Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Every club is allowed 3 designated players that can be paid any amount they wish. If it was 2014 I think a move to America would have been nailed on but the "sign fading Euros for massive money" era is coming to an end, and not a minute too soon.

Even if someone here still wanted him, no MLS club could or would pay the enormous salary he would demand. The highest paid player in MLS (Giovinco) makes less than half of what Rooney is getting from ManU this year. Not to mention the transfer fee, which no one would pay here either.

Thanks mate. I had no idea that the purse strings had been pulled in tighter tbh. I knew about the 3 designated rule (FM) but it always confused the hell out of me (not hard). So are the days of Beckhams truly over then?

They are trying to grow the league with NA players, instead of overhyped foreigners way past their best.

Basically they have given up trying to make the league and the game relevant in that country.

No... I have said loads of times I get why he left.

Its because he left the first chance he got acted the knob when he came back, dragged the clubs name through the mud, ignored a club legend who helped him get where he was and then to call it all off says he loves us really.

He is a snake. Right up there with the likes of Mcmahon for me. The thought of him waddling out as our next number 9 whilst we all bend over backwards for him and pretend that he is like some kind of prodigal son knocks me sick.

And that's before we even get on to the fact that he ain't good enough any more.
Hmm... I respect your right to have your point of view mate but I honestly can't agree with you. He's still probably one of the most football intelligent players in the English set up. I know that doesn't day a lot but he's yards ahead of others in his head which makes up for the yard or two of pace he's lost in my opinion.

Stekelenburg - 2 Dutch leagues, 3 Dutch cups
Robles - FA Cup
Williams - league cup
Schneiderline - FA Cup
Gueye - French league
Barry - Premier league, FA Cup
Mirallas - Greek league, Greek cup
Lennon - league cup
McCarthy - FA Cup
Lukaku - FA Cup, Belgian league
Kone - FA Cup

Rooney - 5 Premier leagues, Champions League, FA Cup, 3 league cups

Still think he's good enough to do something on the pitch for us but what he can bring to the dressing room / training pitch is even more important if we want the club to step up IMO

If he helps us get closer to top 4 / winning trophies then I couldn't give a monkeys what they pay him.

Disagree. Rooney in the squad would add millions to the price we can get for our new shirt deal which just happens to be up this year.

History suggests winning stuff and having global support gets you better commercial deals. Gazza was a similar situation to Rooney, a great player on the way down when he came here, we never got a massive shirt deal off the back of it. Personally I just don't see Rooney generating the club that much money.

Of warming the bench, name me one Everton FCC player who returned , and proved to be any good in a long spell?
Johnson
Jeffers
.?
Anyone else big Dunc? Out always injured?
Everyone's first spell was the best
The old saying never go back!

Doesn't that only work if you're saying they're gonna be as good as the first time around though? I mean, it's not like we're expecting the lad to be 16 again. Remember the name? Those days are gone and we're aware of the fact. I'm pretty sure THEY also say "don't snub yer nose at quality" too. Might have made that up like.
