Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Whilst Rooney is the wrong side of 30, he is still a very good asset. He would also attract other top talent, as even though he is a blue he would help to make the statement of intent and with lakaku, Barkley, schendlin, gana, sign another CD and GK and we would have one of the best cores of a team in the premiership IMO.

Don't diss the Ox mate, he is life itself.
ever since that 3-0 win over Arsenal (when Rom hugged Bobby), it's been obvious that Ox wanted to move to Everton...so did one or two other gunners.

Seen far too much "where would he fit in " "not at the expense of a youth player coming thru"
Get rid of Kone & Valencia he'd soon fit in and not to the detriment of others.
Cant have enough quality players in your squad , and make no mistake he is top quality.
Fwiw Van Gaal & Mourinho have messed about with his best position the last few years , put him up front thats what he does best ....score goals , his record is tremendous. Sign him up Ron.

Transfer fees for a No.2 to Rom are going to be in the 15-25M range so we could just use that money instead to pay for his loan.

He used to rank No.3 on MLS's most wanted list (Messi, Ronaldo) but I think interest has cooled somewhat. I still think at least one MLS squad makes a big splash for him though.

There is little doubt Wayne is past his best. Yet you look at guys like Scholes and Giggs who went into the late 30's and it's reasonable to ask could Rooney. He hasn't got the physique of Giggs, but he could have the intelligence and technique of Scholes.
Did you actually see Scholes and Giggs play in their late 30s? There was a mass media erection at them playing, and they looked good on MotD when they were on the ball, but I suspect the reality of seeing them play 90 was different. I only saw Scholes play at Goodison in one of his last games and he was so far off the pace it was funny. Don't think I've ever seen a prem player as far behind the play, breathing out his aris, to that extent. Perfectly understandable, 36 yo bloke trying to hang in a prem midfield, but you'd never have known it from the match report. It was all about the evergreen technique of Paul Scholes.
