Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Where's he going to play?

Koeman's central MF looks pretty settled - Schneiderlin, Gueye, Davies, Barkley.

Everton need wingers (Rooney hasn't the pace anymore) and good striker or two (Rooney isn't that anymore). He'd have to take a massive wage cut and maybe he will.

Would prefer Ebepton spend that money on players who will actually play. If signing him is for leadership and training room glue, he'd be better off going to China for a couple of years, sacking away silly, silly money then come back to Ebepton and start working on his coaching badges and following the Big Dunc model.

Mate it's Koeman who stated he would like him so I would think he has an idea were to play him.

From a footballing point of view, if our management reckon he will improve us and it's the right price, I see no reason why not.

Everton are on the back page of the metro today with the story of our interest in Rooney. I know, it's the metro, but it's a small example of the potential extra exposure we could get... I can't remember the last time we were mentioned in the metro sport section outside of playing one of the London clubs

Don't see how he fits in the team. He's slow and would take Barkleys place. Be a step back imo. Club probably trying to by a stadium on his shirt sales in China

Ignoring what he did before he was 18.

Manchester utd and England all time leading goalscorer....

that is the C.V. of a proven winner. I don't care if he's 31, players like that don't come around often.

Eto'o;)lol

Personally think (whether some of us like it or not) that this will be our 'Robinho' type signing to captivate the hearts and minds of many within the industry.

He is high profile; SKY will cream themselves silly over us. Players within the game admire and respect him. Fans outside the UK love him.

Secondary striker, where Koeman rotates Lookman/Mirallas/Valencia

Absolutely.

Valencia won't be here next season, very possibly the same for Belgian Super Kev, Lookman still needs another couple of seasons before he will be really consistent.

So we will have three in midfield of Gana / Schneiderlin / Davies and a forward line of Rooney / Lukaku / Barkley

Hands in the pants stuff

In 2013 I put £10 on Everton as Rooney's next club with Paddy Power. The odds then were 50/1. Only just remembered about it. Come on Wayne, you know it makes sense!!!

Haha same mate, except I think I did it in 2010 haha I've always remembered it.

Anyway, people need to calm down. There's nothing suggesting we're going to offer our buy him etc, just a nod of approval from koeman. Think people need to calm down until the summer because I still can't see it happening myself
