I honestly disagree: I bet he's desperate to run out with Z Cars ringing around The Old Lady.

Put it this way, if he signs I'll lay odds on the demand for tickets going through the roof next season. He'd be box office for Everton, and then there's merchandise.

I'm going back a few years now, but an old mate of mine used to swear he drank in the same pubs/bars (Crosby way?) as Carragher and he still cheered the Blues on when he was still breaking through at the RS. Not sure the ringtone was his, but said mate swore blind Carragher was a mad blue.

...and the slowest, but highest paid player at the club, he will be the first to get criticism after a poor performance. Can't wait to popcorn half this forum if he signs, it sends all the wrong signs.

We don't need to rely solely on shirt sales we are owned by a billionaire, and his shady Russian mate.

There would also be massive divisiveness.

He would need to be brilliant from the off and there is zero evidence to say he will be after the past few years otherwise the knives will be out for him.
 

Wayne Rooney is on more money than Schneiderlin, Lukaku, Barkley and Gueye all put together.

Financially he is way out of our league. That is, unless he's prepared to take a pay-cut of a million Pounds a month!
