Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

This is spot on mate. And for those saying he isn't that old: no he isn't but he is clearly coming to the end of his career. He can do one and take his "brand" to USA or China.

I know we will sign him though, and it will be dressed up as a big signing, when it really really isn't.

My 1 small hope is that koeman isn't the type to be swayed by Bill and his theatrics. If he wants him, he has a plan. I just for the life of me can't see it

I don't think he's as finished as most on here seem to be implying. My issue with him returning was always the cost. If the price is right it could work out very well.

Bitterness aside I agree. But what is an acceptable cost to someone clearly a gamble? 40k? 50k? He will probably want at least double and most likely triple that. To put into perspective it's more than the biggest contract we've ever offered to one of the world's best strikers.

He'd be a great addition for me as we transition to what I hope is a great phase of or history...

More than anything he's a winner and hopefully that might rub off on our players.

Also he's still a big name and can hopefully help attract some other players and give some weight (not literally) that we actually mean business

Not to mention our better players will be wanting parity.

People need to get a grip and have some pride in what is one of the greatest clubs in England. There's people commenting on the Facebook media stories about this about how great it is for plucky old everton and what a dream it is for rooney to go back to the club he loves.

If my missus finds some lad with a big car and a huge cock and walks out on me tomorrow, I won't be at the door telling the neighbours how lucky I am in 10 years when he bins her off and she comes back down the path with her boobs a little saggier, those crows feet a little longer and telling me I was always the one.

Have some pride in yourselves and your club. Were better than this and he's not good enough for us. We've got a bright future ahead of it and the only part he should play in it is as a paying punter like the rest of us. It's a privilege to play for this fine club and he walked out on it. And that shredded wheat wig of his as well......

Wondering if Rooney is the reason Rom and Ross are stalling. Read that they were talking £150k for Rooney, though some quoting Rom around the £110k. Sure Rom's agent would have the inside track on what is going down between the 2 clubs.

Would be curious to see how he would do alongside Barkley and Rom with having Gueye, Schneiderlin and Davies to be his legs in midfield instead of having to work so much in a completely unbalanced utd midfield.

Playing off Rom and with less responsibility on tracking back may reinvigorate him a bit and he's still a few years from being over the hill, he's had a few injuries but none majorly serious to consider him finished at 31 i just don't think he has suited Mourinho or Van Gaal's system.

If the wages are not too much of an issue then il welcome him back and wish him the best, no doubt one of our best academy products of all time and if he can still contribute at a high level for us and even go on to join the coaching staff after his playing career it will only be good for us and the young lads in the youth setups.

If Everton are offering Rooney a bigger wage than Lukaku, then they deserve what they will get really.

Thing is he is 4 years younger then Ibrahimovic, the Swede still has a lot to offer, maybe Rooney can as well at Everton, although I dont expect him to play every week.
As for Ross and Lukaku, I can see Ross wanting to play with Rooney, and all expect Lukaku not only to score more to be paid more
