He's a stellar name that might be useful in building our status on the World Stage - though that's questionable - he might encourage other star names to join us - so for that reason it's a tentative yes. I do think he's barely got a year of top flight football left in him though. Might be ok for 70 minutes then 30 minutes sub appearance that's about it - one year only*

*that's pretty much where he came in, back in 2002!!
 

I have nothing against Rooney, but I still don't want him here. I think he'll have a bit of an Indian summer if/when he joins, but will tail off quickly and get frustrated that he can't do the things he wants to do for his boyhood club.

On the assumption that he probably will end up here, I hope he proves me wrong.

It's depressing to think this is the 'answer'.

I admire and like Rooney for what he's achieved. But FFS if we sign him you know that the jigs up in terms of any 'grand plan' to make it to the next level.
