Can't say I agree with that last bit.More than a true Evertonian, he is part of our history and heritage.
He sold himself to save our club from financial ruin.
Didn't a certain Paul Stretford (clue's in the name) have a lot to do with it?

'Rooney is definitely coming back in the summer, and what's more, he will be playing alongside Lukaku. Lukaku will be kicking off next season with Everton, and if we are not in the top four by the January transfer window, then he will be sold.
So now, I wait for all the posts to come flying in: "Yeah, it's all a load of **** who's your source? Lukaku is definitely going in the summer," blah, blah, blah!!!
My source, well obviously I won't reveal who my source is; safe to say it's a very very close relative who works and is based in Old Trafford.
My source has daily contact with a lot of United players, and was speaking to Rooney a couple of weeks back, who said he was returning to Everton in the summer, and had been told of Lukaku's situation.
So, as I said, you can believe me or not, but we shall be seeing Rooney in an Everton shirt next season, and certainly alongside Lukaku for at least half the season.'
That is almost certainly a load of boobalooks but please God, let it be true
That's a new one that. Could have sworn he jumped ship at the first time of asking and gave his entire prime to another club. Regards heritage, he left at 18. He was barely at the club. He's a footnote at Everton who achieved everything with another club (all time record goalscorer) in the same league. He's a Manchester United legend.
A "true" Evertonian takes great pleasure banging in the goals against Everton? Its clearly a game he was especially up for as he seemed to do it a lot...the image of him sliding across the Goodison turf sticks out among many other wild celebrations. Checking teletext (or soccer Saturday on sky sports) and saw Everton 0 -1 Manchester United (Rooney) you thought...true Evertonian that?
I can guarantee it's not true - Lukaku, no matter what, will not be sold in a January transfer window. We wouldn't murder our own season for no reason, regardless of whether it's challenging for the top four or in a relegation battle.
That said, I expect Lukaku to be here next season - or gone for £80m+. It's a win either way.
And I 100% expect Rooney to be here at this point, as somewhat depressing as that is given he's clearly very, very finished and I'd rather we went for Sigurdsson etc. instead of clogging up both a squad space and our wage structure.
There's no way anyone could say definitively at this point whether Lukaku stays or goes this summer.Posted by someone on toffeeweb, pinch of salt etc. Don't shoot the messenger

This true Evertonian waited until four days before the window shut to hand in his transfer request knowing he had the club over barrel. His last season with us he got more yellows than goals, and I would fancy him to carry that trend on next season.
Yeah I get the feeling it holds some weight. Not sure why. Love a good, random ITK post. The lad who posted that is the biggest Blue i have ever met.
There is an article on TW.Yeah I get the feeling it holds some weight. Not sure why. Love a good, random ITK post.
I'd much prefer Rooney on our subs bench than kone coming on.
Just a thought regarding that - do you think he was informed by the club to wait (to hand in a transfer request) as it guaranteed the fee couldn't be used to buy a replacement and instead 'disappear' to pay the debt? it wouldn't be the first time a players' reputation has taken a hit for the good of the club (Gary Speed)
*edit: this is purely conjecture on my part by the way.
Great article thatThere is an article on TW.
