Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

I'd rather he didnt come back as for what he would cost, imo he's not worth it and also I have a feeling it would be one of them 'if he's fit, he plays' signings because he's Wayne Rooney.

Also, I dont understand the 'who would you rather have coming off the bench Kone or Rooney' and 'well Rooney is miles better than Kone' shouts like there is only 2 strikers in world football - it doesnt have to be one or the other.

The anniversary of Alan Ball, this true evertonian did this too..

Alex ferguson on signing Rooney

Ferguson said: "It's a strange twist of fate that if Newcastle hadn't come in for him he wouldn't be here, he'd probably still be at Everton.

"Once we knew Everton were talking to another club we had to do something. We didn't think he was available.

But but but Everton did everything they could to keep him and didn't want to sell him at all.

Amazes me how naive people are

We offered him our best ever contract at the time.

Besides, why are you taking his word as gospel? Who is he in relation to Everton?

If he does return it will, inevitably have a divisive effect on us. I find the thought of him creaking around in front of me wearing a Everton shirt as grotesquely insulting and I know I'm not alone in this. I'll always support the team but I'll do my best to ignore the traitor.

If he returns to the fold I'll support him. One badge kissing incident (the result of being verbally abused by the Everton faithful) does not make him "not a Blue" in my mind. People can whine and bitch as much as they like, but if Koeman and Walsh agree that we should sign a player then we will sign him - if they don't, we won't.

Of course.

Doesn't mean they are right though. Even the best get things wrong.

Even I was wrong once.
