Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

He put a transfer request in, fact

Moyes talking about another player who handed in a transfer request except Arteta did it even later.

Everybody knows that the bank wanted the [Arteta] money," Moyes is quoted as saying in The Times. "I think you all knew that."

It's like people are totally forgetting how Everton went about things back then and for the following 10 years.

An ITK, has it that:
1) Rooney is a done deal.
2) No real money offers are sniffing around Lukaku; early days yet I know, but still there's usually stuff going on in the background.
3) If we're not doing it in the top 4 by Jan Lukaku will be allowed to go then.
4) All things being equal, Rooney will be in a front 2 just behind Lukaku

Time will tell I suppose.

Doubt it's a done deal, but do suspect both parties have made their intentions clear to the other and that United won't really stand in his way. Suspect we'll see a renaissance from Rooney if he comes.

Like you say, done deal for a given value of done deal, still 'eyes' to cross and 'tees' to dot no doubt.

It'll be a let down if there isn't

I agree on Rooney being a done deal
There is no way on gods green earth Everton ( Moshiri ) would agree to sell Lukaku in Jan.
His price would be a lot lower than it would be in the summer of 18.
Big clubs do 99% of their business in the summer window.
It's rare (I know you'll all quite big names that moved for big fees in Jan ) that big deals are done in January.
Do you think Chelsea or United will hang around till Jan without a striker hoping Lukaku becomes available
They will in their arses.

None of us know jack in real terms, but my ITK says he has the word from inside Old Trafford and that's what the word is

And who will spend 70/80 million on Lukaku in Jan.
Because that's what he would go for in July 2018, esp if he scores 20+ goals in the league next season

You're missing the point, nobody's sniffing around to pay that in July either...and this has been pointed out to Lukaku, hence the Jan re-think/option - It works for both parties in a 'Hobson's Choice' kind of way

Disclaimer; all of this is likely to be total wham obvs.

I think we all know it's about as close to being a done deal as these things ever can be, whether it's a good idea or not is debatable but Walsh and Koeman are both on record saying they want him
