Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Rooney of course was a good striker before. I only concern Can he perform his best again in 1 or 2 month?
Otherwise, we have to afford a huge amount of salary fee for him...

I've been against this move to Everton. But if we can get him for @100k per week and on a free, will be OK. I think he will be better than Barkley in the attacking midfield role and at least give barkley some decent competition which will be good.

His ability was created by hard work and desire and not by a fictitious God. It was driven by his desire to play for the team he loves and support.

Getting up early for practise and putting the hours in, he has put a lot more effort in than you and me. I'm big enough to admit it and accept that he is a better blue than me due to that effort and hard work.
He is a better Blue by winning trophy's with united than lads who pay hard earned money to go and watch? I appreciate you want him back mate but that is ridiculous comment

Please don't let this rumor be true. I feel his presence at the club will do nothing but hamper Koeman's rebuilding project. All of our business so far this transfer window has a been thing of beauty. If we sign Rooney that will be the one regret from an otherwise storybook dreamlike fairy tale of a transfer window.

I don't rate him.I don't trust him in big moments. I don't believe he is an upgrade over Barkley at this stage of his career. I don't like the storyline of him "Coming Home". I don't like that he would steal minutes from others that are 1) better players or 2) youth needing the game time for development.

I don't care if its a free transfer and 50K a week wages. Please dear god do not let Everton sign Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United are keen to negotiate a deal to take Wayne Rooney to Everton that does not involve the former England captain as a makeweight in the £75 million transfer of Romelu Lukaku, sources have told ESPN FC.

Rooney, who became football's most expensive teenager when he left Goodison Park for United in a £27m deal in 2004, is expected to remain behind in England to finalise a return to Everton when Jose Mourinho's squad fly to California on Sunday for their preseason preparations.

Sources have told ESPN FC that United's initial efforts to sign Lukaku involved Rooney in order to tempt Everton into a deal. But with United now agreeing a fee for Lukaku, the two clubs are attempting to strike a separate deal.

With Rooney winning every major club honour at least once with United during his 13-year spell at Old Trafford, as well as breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time goal-scoring record, the 31-year-old has secured his status as a club legend.

And there is a determination within United that Rooney's exit should not be overshadowed by the big-money arrival of Lukaku.

Rooney rejected the chance to negotiate a lucrative move to China in February, insisting that he wanted to remain at United to help the club achieve its ambitions under Mourinho.

United ended the campaign with two major trophies -- the EFL Cup and Europa League, and returned to the Champions League as a result of their success in defeating Ajax in Stockholm.

Rooney admitted after the game that he had "more or less" made his mind up about his next move, with a return to Everton the favoured option should the club formalise their interest in re-signing him.

Talks have progressed well this week between United, Everton and Rooney's camp, but while there is hope at Old Trafford that the Lukaku move may be completed by the weekend, a deal for Rooney could take longer.

Unfinished business for him and for us. Passion will be trophies. Make it so #1

I want to win something with Rooney in the team. He's inarguably the greatest player the club ever produced (i.e. didn't buy from another club - excludes Dixie Dean, Ball, Young and others).

If that makes me a romantic so be it, but I love a good Fairytale ending.

Could not agree more. This even being discussed is a travesty.

While he is still game and Koeman & Walsh see it I feel very good this will be a great fit. I know fans are all split as his best years are behind him but his passing and eye for positioning has me excited with our other young guns taking center stage. His experience and passion will be good for us.

Nothing wrong with being a romantic life is short as it is. I was always waiting for Bally to come back home on the pitch when I was younger.

I'll be disappointed if we are conceding 25% of Rom's price tag as a ploy to do business over Rooney. He shouldn't have ever been a part of the negotiations over Rom but a separate deal altogether.
