Think the courtroom artist captured him just perfectly

Looks like the missing Mitchell brother

Nearly 3 times over the limit. Isn't that 3 pints?

Stupid thing to do but he would have been in control.

A few months ago I was breathalysed after having 5 pints of Guinness and having analysed every thread on this site and similar others I thought I would share my experience. I had finished a 14 hour shift at work where all I had eaten was a bacon sandwich early in the morning. I had my first pint around 9.15pm and proceeded to have five in total by approximately 11pm (I know, complete idiot). On the way home I stopped for a takeaway (which I was bringing home and did not eat) for approximately 10 minutes and was pulled over at approximately 11.30pm.

The result from my privately tested blood sample returned with a blood alcohol level of 79mg per 100millilitres of blood. The lab assistant told me the police test should therefore return at 73mg; which it did some weeks later. The sense of relief and thankfulness for my answered prayers is hard to put into words.

That fella drank 5 pints and still "passed", using that as the benchmark, Rooney must have had to drink around 16-17 pints to get such a high reading.

Wow. Thought 5 pints would be well over the limit!

Fortunately, Rooney did not injure or kill someone with his car, but the potential was there, (it happens a lot, folks, and it does not necessarily take much alcohol), and he, as with anyone else who drinks and drives, is responsible for creating that danger. He's lucky just to get the fine and the ban, could have been a whole lot worse.

It might be for you, it might be for me, its all based on science, height, weight, metabolism, how much you have eaten, how fit you are, thats why they suggest people only have 1 pint.

Your question peaked my interest so I googled and found that story, im by no means an expert and would suggest that if people are driving, in order to stay safe, stick to soft drinks.

Loads and loads of variables mate, due to :

Age, male / female, height, weight, tiredness, physical fitness, last time food eaten, type of food eaten, amount of food eaten etc.

A pro athlete / footy player, would be smashed on five pints due to their metabolism breaking anything put into their body down much quicker than a regular person.

Rooney " should " fall into this category.

I'd say that the fella who had the five pints of Guinness was a regular drinker and had developed a tolerance to it, hence the low blood reading.

As you say, the best thing to do when driving is drink no alcohol at all.

Back to football.

I think Rooney has shown, albeit in a dreadful team so far, that he is the only one who is willing to try to unlock space and try to find runners with quality first time passes. That's his game now, he is not a striker. Play him up top and he will always drift into a deeper position because he wants to affect the game. Therefore, why not play him in a central midfield role alongside Gana, bench Schneiderlin because he has been absolutely awful, and put utilise somebody else in the attacking position he was taking up?
