Fair play to Unsworth for doing this. It would be very easy just to stick his name on the teamsheet and blame Walsh/Koeman for signing him, but the bench is the right place for Wayne at the moment.

Not messing about is Rhino, unlike Koeman who was sticking to his signings and countrymen I do feel like Rhino is picking a team to try and win the game rather then keep his favourites happy

I agree with the above.....good team selection Rooney can have an impact off the bench if needed...

Mirallas needs to have a good game to convince me he is dedicated to the cause....

It's an actual travesty that Kevin Mirrallas and Aaron Lennon are worthy of a place but Wayne Rooney isn't.

I don't hate him for leaving.

I hate Kenwright for bringing him back and predictably doing so when he's past it. We all called it out like five years ago; the fact it happened is detestable.

I don't blame Rooney for any of it though. He's a mercenary who has taken the best pay cheque in his job available since he was a kid. Fair play to him. The club, however, should have not given him the pay here, as it was abundantly obvious he was finished at this level.

It wasn’t completely about a pay cheque when He moved to Utd

It was about winning things which he did and wouldn’t have at Everton

Glad he's back if I'm honest but also glad he's not starting every week

...he’s being used as he should be used, sparingly. The bloke is still a talented footballer but opposition players go past him with ease. Use him on a needs be basis, he still has plenty to offer.
