It's weird. When he left he was our best player. We'd got no money and were stumbling along.

Through a combination of the Moyes rebuilds, the Martinez years (which both improved our standing and image which attracts players) and our newfound 'riches' we've brought a higher standard of player. Yet, whilst on his last legs, he's still arguably one of our best players!

It shouldn't be the case.

Its just a shame he came back at the start of one of the worst seasons for many a year, which is not his fault.

It would have been interesting to have seen him in a more settled side on his return with a clear role lined up, instead of one with so many new players many of whom were competing for his position.

I think he would have been a different proposition dropping him into Martinez side. A couple of year younger and with Stone, Barkley and Lukaku - would have been mouth watering.

Yeah
He might have even done well in that 2nd year Martinez Team and tried to get our passing more purposeful and our attitude more aggressive

Imagine getting him at the start of the 2013/14 season. We'd have definitely got into the champions league but its just a what if.

A shame? We would be bottom of the league now but for him

If I am not mistaken, he played as DMF in Leicester game and did an awesome job connecting defense with forward until the moment he caused a stupid penalty. If Everton had a decent left wing, I would like to see Rooney as an attacking DMF, Siggy behind the forward and Walcott on the right wing.

Should be starting centre mid every game home and away except against the top 6. Not out left, not wide right, not behind the striker and certainly not the striker. Centre mid.

Was just mentioned on the US broadcast that he wants to begin coaching next season part time while still playing. Apparently he's going to work with the U14's. Seems like a great role model for the keeds.
