We need to talk about England fans.

Should England be banned from a tournament or two?

Some of you aren't going to agree, but your involvement in the twitter circus (and other poorly-moderated social media platforms) contributes to this environment.

These companies have shirked their responsibilities in dealing with this behaviour and they won't change until they lose users/ advertisers etc. If you're on these platforms you are perpetuating this behaviour.

'But I'm not the one posting racist or offensive messages' you might say, and you'd be exactly right, but that then puts you in the same camp as the millions of fans who follow their national teams and won't have anything to do with the minority who display these vile behaviours.

This online behaviour will continue until significant changes are made to these social media platforms.
I agree mate. Ban twitter, ban England ASAP.

Tell you what though...
A lot of reverse racism coming out now which is just as divisive and dangerous in my opinion...
Radio 1 just now:
'as a person of colour I can't feel patriotic because of England's history'....koff that's got nothing to do with the football team, you don't see the Germans ignoring their national side ...
'i only follow because of sterling as he's Jamaican and I'm jamaican' . Koff....he's as English as you or me....

We need to stop this whole them and us agenda that the neanderthals and the Media like to push ...
End of the day if you're born here you're English....
If you come her for a better life and grow up here you're English....
If you're proud to stand up and support this nation then in my eyes you're English regardless of your skin colour, religion or where you come from....
It says a lot these days that the mere idea of being an england fan is automatically viewed as being a racist thug ...when ironically some of the proudest English fans are Hindu, Sikh, immigrants etc, the people the scum like last night's lot choose to target

Honestly the more we focus on our differences, the harder it'll be to end racism....

I was born in Dublin so I have know particular allegiance to England's football team but I found myself wanting Italy to win.
My reason was I didn't want to have to listen to all the media hypo for the next 6 months.
Also I do not want to be associated with the scum that follows them , booing every other teams anthem is disgusting and totally classless and the storming of the gates was totally predictable bearing in mind many had been on the ale since early morning.
The media is as much to blame for this as they turn at bars at eight in the morning to pat fans on the back for being so dedicated drinking so early.
It will never change in this country until they start to realise that it is actually a football tournament and not just an excuse to get bladdered.
It showed Rome earlier on the news and I was struck by how few were drunk or drinking they were just elated they had won.
Half the people out getting pissed in this country have never been to a football match and though showing crocodile tears for cameras will have forgotten all about it once there hangovers have gone.
