Ditto. Weatherman Phil has been out again then, and it is getting worse. There are lulls, but when the wind gets up it’s pretty darn powerful.

I ain’t a person lacking stature, and I was struggling at times to stay on my feet near the river. This will cause debris to come down etc.

Lives are more important than football.
Exactly the same as you , I’ve been out by the river a couple of times and headed back in and it’s a struggle walking forward when it’s going .

It dropped off for about 20 mins but it’s certainly back again now . Look personally it doesn’t particularly bother me getting to the game but it’s different for others . I was at Leicester and there are at lot of older houses around goodison so a combination of factors mean that it makes sense to me to call it off .

Even if it has cost me a proper breakfast

Everyone tell Matty Fish what you think of him.

I think his account was hacked again tbh.

There is a bit of molly-coddling over this, I suppose. A few years ago this goes ahead. But we saw a fan of ours taken against Leicester many years back and you have to put yourself in the position of his family if this storm warning was ignored by football authorities.

On a football level it's a shame. I fancied our chances there today: they had decent players ruled out and the conditions would have robbed them of a lot of their technical advantage. I mean, we can beat them when all things are equal too like, but I also think they've not fancied it today on the back of a late equaliser and dropping points at Newcastle and they knew if they'd dropped points today their lead in the table would have been very very narrow by the end of this weekend.

Liverpool gain from this postponement more than we do.

Palace game got cancelled 10 years ago because of strong winds, it 100% would've never went ahead

True enough, but I know you'll be the first to acknowledge that one flying tile slicing a kid's head in Netley Street (or whereever) is just too much of a risk - not onl from the human side of things (most importantly) but also reputationally for the club.

Yep. 100%.

Youd feel sorry for them, whole week spent in a flat pack furniture making factory and now this.

We still have plenty to offer them though: the Scandinavian Church will cook them up a mean pickled herring lunch.

There's always a silver lining.

Hearing they are being put to work on the new Anfeild Stand.
