Welcome Charlie Adam

I haven't searched for evidence as I will judge him on what he does here.

There is also no evidence to show that he doesn't have that skillset, so by your logic, WTF are you on about?
I'm on about this? We dont have a set piece problem, so why is Moyes bringing in someone fix what isn't broken?

He's brought in a mate and near neighbour and out him on the club salary role...just as he dd with his Dad and his brother.

But Dave, you have absolutely no idea what Charlie Adams qualities are. You are saying that he's brought in a mate, a neighbour just to shovel money into his account. What if, maybe, just maybe Moyes knowing Charlie Adam well has enabled him to steal a march on others hiring him. I'm not saying thats the case, because like you, I have absolutely no idea. I'm just not jumping to ridiculous conclusions based off absolute nothing beyond two people who have been in football for 30 years and being from the same country, while living in the same general area of their adopted country for a long time, knowing each other.

Your being wildly accusatory without any base of knowledge whatsoever, and it's quite a really ridiculous stance to take in my opinion.

Are you suggesting that we're perfect at set-pieces at both ends and can't improve? Are you also concerned about the ability of a dedicated set-piece coach to allow people to focus on their own areas? I just have no idea why you are so against this appointment. If it doesn't work, he'll be moved on.

Anyway, proof will be in the pudding.

If nothing else, Myko can pick up a few tips on set pieces involving a cross into the box. We can certainly improve on corners in. Their effectiveness has dropped without Dwight taking them.

As said: to get a set piece coach in it has to be an issue. Before you started defending this alccie Kopite you undoubtedly along with everyone else had never even thought we needed a set piece coach.

Continue to defend the indefensible though.

Meanwhile we're struggling to get cash together to bring a player in but whatever cash there is is being syphoned off to pay for a load of useless Caledonians.

Needed an extra coach and it's fashionable to have a set piece coach so they've given him that title. Wouldn't read too much more into it, I'm sure Moyes, Irvine and Baines will have a fair bit of input into set pieces too. Although I remember Baines hitting the first man from a corner with great consistency so maybe he's not the best to coach them.

Sure, but we arent looking to solve a set piece "problem", we're trying to ease and improve the workload of the coaching staff

Dave, I have no idea why you are against attempts at improving, in any way possible.

Also, I'm not defending anybody, I simply cannot figure out your stance beyond a personal, bigoted view of the individuals involved. All I am saying is that we cannot judge the decision to bring him in until we have some idea as to what the impact is of bringing him. If we had a catalogue of evidence which pointed in either direction of success or failure, then maybe you'd have a point.w

It is currently just as likely that he is a success as it is that he isn't. If he fails miserably, then he'll go, but a failure on his part is if he doesn't improve us, in which case we're no worse off are we.

I highly doubt that David Moyes is "Siphoning off" payments from the available budget for transfers, as he knows as well as anybody that if we don't get players in, it's his neck on the chopping block.

Anyway, I'm sure this is getting boring for everybody else. So, to end, I am of the opinion that we have brought in David Moyes to improve the fortunes of the team. Having specialised coaches looking at parts of our play may help that, it may not. But I'd rather we took the chance, because doing the same old [Poor language removed] under Dyche simply wasn't working. Which is probably why he bottled it and quit.
