Welcome Charlie Adam

yes he played for Liverpool big deal if he comes in and makes us better at set pieces and we score some goals from, then that’s great. Also all the super fit athletes we have on here who must look 10 years younger than they’re with a metabolic age of a 18 year old is fantastic 😂

Baines used to take free kicks, wonder what makes Adam(who looks about 50) more qualified?

just because you can take a good free kick doesn't mean your set up for a set piece coach, its about the play after the free kick and also about setting up defensively for a free kick. the different phases of play with all that, if Moyes thinks he is the best for it then so be it

Exactly. Coaching set pieces is a lot different than taking a free kick and set pieces cover throw ins, corners, free kicks, penalties and even kick off's. Our throw ins have been atrocious for years now. Most either go backwards or straight to the opponents. Corners aren't much better either. Moyes must be confident in his ability to improve us or he wouldn't have him on his backroom staff.

I'm thawing slightly to Moyes 2.0

- Against Villa we pressed in the closing stages and won more corners.
- Now we're looking at set piece improvements
- We have some size in our back 4, Tarks, Jarred and DCL's still got half a prayer from that sort of distance on goal

All this and getting our CM's closer to the box?

This actually sounds like a plan, albeit not exactly the beautiful game.

Seems Davey is trying to get as far away from the Dyche model of football management as possible, can’t think why with all the success Seany delivered here……

Best of luck Charlie, hoping you can help us improve our frankly abysmal set pieces.
