We'll be OK.......

So frustrating - but we were always going to need a few games before the team start to gel. We've also played Chelsea, United and City away as well as Spurs. I know it aint great but we did look much better today. We're 4 or 5 points off where we want to be, start winning games now & we'll quickly climb the table. COYB

Indeed.

That is the attitude I am now forced to adopt.

To think any other way initially totally ruin the holiday I am "enjoying" in Portugal right now.....my wife has already given me an ultimatum that I need to snap out of this Everton induced stumour....or see me finally succumb to the insanity that is investing more than half a century's worth of emotion into this most infuriating yet all to adorable passion.

So.

For me the season OFFICIALLY starts on Wednesday night.

Surely even we will score a couple against Sunlun reserves :(

COYBB.......happy new football season, guys

That 'performance' and I use the term very loosely was the result of a)Playing United and knowing they would be under the microscope to the Nth degree. b) the' Cry God for Harry (Catterick) Everton and St Domingo' rev up meeting in the week.
This might be as good as it gets.

I also think United scoring so early made some of the lads say "screw this for a game plan" and took it upon themselves to be more attack minded.

Or they did United just wind it back enough to contain us without over tiring themselves and once our 'energy players' got subbed off Rooney, Davies, Gana; The goals popped in? We'll never know really.

You will be ok but your CBs are quite reckless. You can't play with 3 CBs if your defenders aren't comfortable on the ball; that is suicide.

Also, and I hope to not catch any abuse for this but you will struggle against teams that won't open up like we do. With the way you're set up, your best way to goal is through the middle and that's often the hardest way. You don't even have a target man to cross the ball in to. You have very little pace in your attack and your array of strikers just don't cut the mustard for a club like Everton. Lookman and Mirallas do bring a bit of pace but it's clear Koeman doesn't trust them.

This isn't meant to be doom and gloom because I still think you have creativity in your side but it's a very unbalanced squad which CAN be fixed with a change of formation and Koeman giving a chance to some of the other players on the bench.

BOO

Bloody Man yoo fans, coming onto our forum and stating the bleeding obvious. Get back to red cafe where you belong.
This is GOT, this is no place for even cautious optimism about Everton.
WE'RE OBVIOUSLY DOOMED ALREADY - you only have read the posts from some of our top troo bloos to realise that relegation is a certainty. Our fate is already sealed.
We have less than maximum points from 5 easily winnable opening games, therefore it is all over for us as a club. We're finished. We're doomed I tells ya.
Go take your bone dry keks back to red cafe and leave us here to sit and steam.

Pass the bleach.

This season, despite the early optimism, has gone just how I thought it would do far.

Play a ridiculously hard run of games, lose them, sink to the bottom of the table and the confidence goes with it.

Then, even games against lesser teams become a struggle. We get on Koeman and players back and downward spiral. Only graft now will get us up and running again.

That said, I'm really surprised at quite how bad we've been, even with the poor end to the transfer window and dubious tactics on the pitch.

If we lose to the likes of Bournemouth (which I think we will, and in depressingly bad style) then we're in a real mess.

Utd didn't open up and played a really poor game. I thought everton did alright up until the penalty box. Eventually tiredness and errors in the last few minutes and a refereeing error for the pen turned what should have been a 1-0 defeat into a heavy defeat.

I think Everton are in for a relegation battle because there are no goalscorers in the team. As far as Utd go, I don't think you are anywhere near as good as you think you are. Players like Lingard and Rashford are massively over rated.

We were quite open in the middle. Fellaini doesn't have legs of Pogba or Herrera so you partner him with Matic and everything is a bit slow. But by our standards, yes we were poor and precisely why I preferred Herrera starting. He's the creative CM and workhorse we needed next to Matic. Although Fellaini was not terrible.
I don't think we are where we want to be yet and to lose Pogba now is a heavy loss but I think we will definitely get there as the season progresses.
I will also agree with you about Lingard but not Rashford. But hey you're entitled to your opinion.
