The weirdest thing for me is that even after getting pasted by Brighton & Spurs I was still confident that we'd be okay as we could rely on a number of games over the season to eak out some wins and keep us out of the bottom three.

Yesterday was one of those games.

I feel a bit traumatised by it to be honest and, as a result, it's now completely shaken that confidence I had..
 
We’re in the thick of the battle yet again, and hoping for there to be three worse teams again. Hopefully our luck doesn’t run out.

Saw plenty to be happy about yesterday but the manager has to start acting like one earning £6mill a year and not behave like an over-aggressive pe teacher looking after the dog and duck Sunday team.
 
The good news is it’s still very very early. Yes we have lost three games but one of them we should have won, clearly.

It’s not complete panic stations yet but after Villa smash us that will be played 4 lost 4.

Same for me. Yesterday was exactly the sort of comfortable routine win at Goodison that has kept the club up in last three years. Go into a game full of doom and gloom but defended solidly and take chances when they come and win 1 or 2 nil. April 2024 is the textbook example.

Even drawing the game would've been terrible but to find a way to actually lose it with the worst defending imaginable is going to be horrible for the mentality in the next few months.

Of course Branthwaite will improve things when he returns but he can only do so much.

Worth remembering it's no away wins since mid December so continually finding ways to throw away games at Goodison isn't really advisable.

Leicester away is the tipping point game.

Lose Villa and that and straight away at least four points behind Leicester with a far worse GD so the onus is then on the club not to left things drift too much and ultimately that means an imminent change of manager.
 
No.. We lost the first 3 last season and would have finished with 48 points in the end. Once Branthwaite is back and a few players are up to speed (likes of Garner , Mangala , Lindstrom, O'Brien ) then we'll be completely fine.

We have stayed up mainly with luck for a couple of seasons. Fair enough the odd good performance v bug teals. A fantastic support helping in particular matches but mainly due to luck.

Time wont wait for us. We have been clinging on with our finger nails for years now.

The last year at the old lady . We will embarrass her.
