Funnily enough, no. He's being forced to play through injury at the moment because many of our new signings are unfit (which is ridiculous).

He was probably our best player last season which says a lot about how poor the others within our squad were.

Always like to hear the oppositions view in our games - welcome aboard.

Surprised your being so kind with your views considering we committed crime of the century selling you Big Vic for £6M...appalling footballer, and not worth 6 bags of Jelly Babies.

I thought our midfield were appalling - powder-puff and struggled to deal with Lukaku's presence and the clever movement of Naismith.

I saw a lot of Naismith at Rangers but he seems to have blossomed under Martinez.

We definitely missed Mulumbu today though - our midfield was incredibly one paced and our attacking was pedestrian which was easy for you to defend against.

were people booing brunt off today mate/ironic cheers when he was substituted?

Chris Brunt has been poor for a long time. I think we've got a classic example of players becoming stale and Brunt, Morrison and Dorrans currently seem to be falling into that category. Olsson, many years ago was a great, no nonsense defender but he like others I've just mentioned seems to have become stale and comfortable within his surroundings. I can't wait for the return of Lescott because at the moment we quite obviously need him.

As for Berahino - he started well last year but faded when he got his contract extension. He has an attitude problem and it was highlighted when James Morrison punched him last season but this year he appears to be knuckling down and getting on with the job. I thought he was probably our best player today and if something was going to happen then it was going to happen through him. Regardless, at whatever point we sell him we'll guaranteed some good money purely because he's now classed as English and has the potential to score goals if he's given the service (service he won't get with us).

i hope we snap him up when you go down (sorry mate, it will happen) - i really really like him.

Gamboa and Varela could be cracking players, but they're both seriously lacking in fitness aren't they?

Don't agree with this at all

He was worth at least 7 bags and a box of liquorice allsorts

Just back in from the away day.
Great Lukaku first goal, our supporters were in mighty fine voice, singing 'Roberto had a Dream' just as Kev slotted in the 2nd.

Happy Days.

& on the train back, loadsa rousing renditions of 'I've never felt more like singing the blues, when Everton win and Liverpool lose'..... boss time indeed. Feels great

The full throated support sounded brilliant on TV mate, glad you had a good day and we got the three points.

Congratulations on your victory - although I reckon the Everton under 14s could have comfortably beaten our shower of [Poor language removed] today.

The disappointing thing for me is that we never made you sweat, you probably won't have an easier game all season. We offered nothing going forward, infact, Howard was more or less a passenger and we allowed a possession based side to control and dictate the tempo of the football match. With Barry and McCarthy in the middle you were always going to control the game because none of our lot could get near them.

Anyhow, hope your season picks up and you break into the top four and ruffle the applecart. As for us, hopefully there's a couple of miracles going around because under Father Ted I think we're pretty much nailed on to go down.

Best wishes.
Best of luck with the rest of your season. It might be a long one. You passed with some fluency, but you lacked a cutting edge up front today. We've certainly been there. And it is all very early days in the season. Who thought that Villa would get off to such a cracking start?

Great result. I had kittens every time they attacked first half.

We rode the storm n that was massive, may not have got away with it against better but we weren't up against better and we fully deserved the win.
