...2 x £20m centre backs, more than all defenders at or club and we have 2 in the England squad, a goalie who plays for USA, a RB who plays for Ireland and a Puerto Rica LB. Lots of dosh doesn't always buy quality.

Today imo was a very good game in terms of not wearing the team out too much, it was a typical Europa league team weekend game that I think we'll come used to through the season. Wolfsburg will be a much bigger test as they have a number of really talented players from goalkeeper through to attack and I'm sure they'll be a real test. Optimistic after today and I'm getting even more convinced that this is Mirallas' season, which makes it pretty much a cert that he'll get injured in the next few weeks.

You are welcome to disagree as I won't abuse you for it but I just think in the 1st half Barry and McCarthy were very poor and we lost control of your midfield. 2nd half Barry improved 100% but McCarthy was no great shakes compared to last season. IMO

Thought you were very good in midfield 1st half, in fact if Mulumbu was fit for this match I think the result might have turned out different.
