The problem with always playing it out from the back is if teams press high up the pitch, turning the ball over is an everpresent danger. So it's back to the long-ball stuff to counter that and that's what happened a lot today. Bottom line, though, two points dropped thanks to a lot of anonymous performances.

Osman needs to go. He shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11....

Spends half the time looking at the referee with his arms out to the side complaining. A joke....

What's with baines too?? For me he can't be 100% fit. No driving runs and quick passes and running into space. Just not there. He isn't fit you can see it.

And of course the complimentary injury to further give the RS more advantage, with coleman taking a knock. Thats both of ourarguably best players of the season out. Ffs!!!

24 interceptions from West Brom to Everton's 9, a hallmark of Pepe Mel coached teams

We've played poorer and won and played better and lost. Swings and roundabouts, but even against Palace, we didn't resort to Lumping it up!

We haven't played poorer than that this year mate. Shocking 2nd half as you'll see. Apart from the freekick by kev, didn't threaten at all

I wouldn't spend much time picking out individuals out of that performance as they all looked off the pace apart from Jags and Tim really. I'd isolate Barry and McCarthy only because it is probably the first time theyve both played poorly. The players in general being sluggish and Pienaar/Barkley missing meant it was a disappointing night, but I thought it would be a draw beforehand anyways.
