He's really not robbing a living, I've never heard that nonsense until I came on to this forum. He is not good enough to start but we are short players due to injury. It as it is right now. He tries but just isn't fast enough or strong enough to make a difference. He only looks okay in the final third with support. The situation is what it is right now. By next season we will have the squad upgraded and he will be a squad player, and Kev will be no better than bench if he continues at this level.

Before today he'd played 1 game in the last 18 days and has just been to tenerife for a week or so. Wish i had that kind of work load.

Merely pointing out that I expected him to make an immediate impact, without knowing how West Brom normally play...He has a specific approach that can yield results and my guess is that he will have better resources there then he ever had with Betis or Vallecano

Same sort of dim view was likely levied at Roberto before he got the Toffee position but we know how that's turning out...Good coaches can make a difference and Martinez is a great one but Mel is quite good with a style that is well known & often effective

Osman was awful (how did he stay on that long) Baines has to stop that bad habit of stopping when he receives a pass and basically halting any momentum. Too many players off form and West Brom deserved the point if not all 3. Osman is a no no and cannot start again. We looked like a spent force out there. It's very difficult to control a game when your goalkeeper constantly hoofs the ball down field, it also doesn't help when your centre backs are so uncomfortable on the ball. This triangle of players is a problem, they stop us from really controlling games and momentum.

Afraid to say Lukaku is at least 50% hype, maybe more.

Been dreadful game after game without threatening to improve. Tonight him and Mirallas, falling over and trying utterly stupid flicks and tricks, a performance that makes you understand why Moyes was so reticent with his 'flair' players.

At the back, Martinez must take the blame. Dropping Oviedo & Stones for Distin & Baines was a mistake, simple as. Baines has rolled back into the team half-arsedly, probably feeling with the contract sewn up he really needn't bother. Distin was poor, simple as. Terrible in everything he did.

Alcaraz & Stones showed the benefits of having proper footballers at the back, which we sorely missed. Distin in that form - or even like he was in the last one - in the Derby will get ripped to shreds. Jags held firm but had some poor touches, Howard terrible kicking.

Selling Jelavic was stupidity. I wouldn't start Lukaku next game, but it's not like we can readily drop him is it?

Just a few observations:
1. WTF has happened to Lukaku? He is really not worth his place in the team at the moment.
2. McCarthy had his first poor game for us tonight.
3. Distin looked very shaky and lacking in confidence.
4. We need to bin the Tenerife jollies from now on.

he's not good enough to be a squad player, he's beyond terrible, he can't be relied upon in any capacity as a top level footballer, he's the last player I want to see selected, I'd rather naismith started, and I don't say that lightly

One of those games, we were a bit flat, especially the second half, Fair play to West Brom who upped their game.

No point ****ging off individuals. Can't think of anyone that stood out. Not the end of the world. There are no easy games, we delude ourselves to think otherwise. A dip, probably too much sangria.

bit worried by how poor Lukaku's looked lately. Not even 100% convinced anymore we should lump all our money on him in the summer.

Also concerned with how we appear to be reverting to Moyes-style football, when the Martinez game worked so well for us.

For now, I'll blame it on the in-hindsight poor idea of a warm week off, and the pitch tonight on a cold Monday morning.
