what exactly have you been drinking, lad? I thought they banned the psychedelics from Absinthe.

The problem of lacking shouty aggressive leaders is a modern one affecting most teams. The German National Team is the most obvious example. The theory goes that the ultra-rich modern player lacks the rough-n-dirty upbringing many of the older generation had. This in turn means the modern player grows up lacking a particular character asset: Natural Leader. The sort who'll inspire his players to battle to a win because they're scared of him.

We could do with an old-school [Poor language removed] like that.

first 3 names i thought of, up the toffees.

Pretty sure Martinez doesn't rate him...quite sure actually. He sees the lad in training week in and week out, so I'm gonna trust that he knows what he's doing.

I sadly have to agree. I'm a Vellios fan, and he always reminded me of Big Dunc, strong in the air. Doesn't look like it's gonna work out for the lad, when in desperation of winning the game, he brings on Stevie Nais instead of Tolis.

If he's on the bench then he deserves the chance to come on if the player starting in front if him is ineffective.

If Vellios is that poor that he doesn't even get that chance, then don't put him on the bench. Put an under-21 lad on there.

Well everyone keeps on telling me we're gonna go on a bad run at some point, but how do we know this isn't the bad run? 8 from 15 isn't necessarily a bad return, but from the fixtures we've had, it could have been 15/15.

McGeady looked half decent today, and at least looked threatening, something which was sorely missed today. As you say despire the meltdown we're all having on twitter, GOT and at the match evidentally, we're still only 1pt off 4th, and we have an excellent record against teams in the 'top 7', which in this case could work in our favour as 3 of the next 5 are against them, and then who knows!

All it takes is a bit of luck, and i say it's about time we got some!

I think this is it. We're not going to concede a lot of goals and so we're not going to lose a lot of games, but we're not clinical enough to put games like this to bed.

A team like Liverpool will give the ball to Suarez and expect him to do the rest. We're kind of the opposite. Our midfielders don't give Lukaku the ball when and how he wants it and tend to use him as a decoy or battering ram to have a go themselves. Gerrard puts a lot of chances on a plate for the Sewer Rat, but we don't do enough of that for Romelu. If we can address that and get him firing again it will really help our chances.

But i did think with all the hype of Liverpool dropping points, it put so much more pressure on us today, and it reflected in the performance,

What? Surely not as much pressure as would have been if Liverpool had beaten Villa. Pressure is no excuse. If you can't stand the heat........

Step away from the ledge...frustrating maybe, but devastating is a bit harsh.

How many times have we taken an opportunity to gain an advantage over liverpool, moyes or no moyes? The answer is 0

Sick of this **** to be honest, we were awful tonight, failed to take a foothold in the game, every other pass going to the opposition.

Win and we go fourth, what more motivation do you need? No one in an Everton shirt tonight looked like they even cared

For me, there was more pressure, certainly on here anyway. We all billed the game up as big, but when the RS slipped up, we were all like this is a HUGE game. I don't think it benefitted us playing after everyone else this weekend either, it surely must be on the players minds?

Just got home from the match now lads, not f*cking good enough what so ever. We had a real chance there tonight and we badly messed it up, all of our team seemed lethargic and uninterested especially that t*at Osman the old man. We had an opportunity to go 4th and cocked it up surprise surprise. Get a f*cking leader in like Joey Barton instead of having a miserable captain like Jags, get rid of him. Distin was also poor, really poor. Imagine him vs Suarez, Jesus christ. We need some passion and drive in that team, it's broken no leaders, against modern football. Get rid of Lukaku as well lads, he's shocking, Vic looked great compared to him.

In at number one at the top of the fuming charts we have......

Pretty certain we've finished above them two season in a row
