All 3 points were there for the taking today but we don`t have a manager that sets up like that.

Dyche set up for a draw, that is the height of his ambition, he has to go now, this is the last International break until nearly the end of the season.

We simply can not having Dyche and backing him with players in January to play this dire, turgid style of football that does not win.

Dyche Out......

….its a fair point regarding a more progressive winger in Ndiaye, but we shouldn’t have to play defensive wide players to cover the weakness of a full-back. Indeed the general consensus on here is that Mykolenko is a good defender. To be fair to Ndiaye, he does work the channel and often helps out.
Well it's a fair thing that Ndiaye is not a winger then and it shouldn't be his job to even help out the full back - he loses the ball there and has done so several times in the last few games, but it's not his fault he's being asked to do that I suppose.

Also we're doing exactly the same thing - defensive winger out wide - to cover for our right backs in Young and Coleman, and they instantly look good, which is hilarious - of course they would when there's two right backs

In fact, we sort of do it too for the left when McNeil's there, but recently he's moved more up field so I guess that's a moot point and Myko's being shown up instead.

Going a little against the grain here, and I don't know if it's more about West Ham being awful, but I only watched the 2nd half and before the West Ham subs, we actually demonstrated that we could play football. True it went nowhere, and we have no idea what to do beyond 20 yards out (or we've been told not to) but at least the ability to hold the ball brings confidence in our team and pressure on the opposition.

Now if only we had coaching staff that could turn this possession ability into more than "shove out wide and loft a floaty cross"

Beyond that short 20 min period, the whole season looks like we're "simming" every game like fifa or champ manager, going through the motions to get to the end. Unfortunately though in real life, we can't go back when it all goes wrong.

Depressing lack of quality from both sides. Never had the feeling that we would score. Branthwaite looked fine and I like the way he steps out from defence with the ball. Ndiaye lively. Pickford played well. But the rest of them? Meh. Gana looked tired at the end of the match, slowed down and was getting caught on the ball. Mangala was ok I suppose. Fullbacks solid enough but limited. Tarks wasn't great again - but he looked better second half from memory. Really want lindstrom to come good, but not seeing it. Dom looked marked out of the game. Doucoure an enigma. Clearly we are more solid when he plays - he must have really good positioning or something - but offers so little going forward. Mehverton

Still can't understand why ndiaye isn't playing central off DCL, he's running past players for fun in the left back position, davoure may as well not have been on the pitch today.....awful predictable unadventurous embarrassing football....we can not get rid of dyche quick enough

…I think Beckham and Giggs under SAF set the blueprint for wide players working the length of the pitch and it’s the done thing in the modern game.

I get your point about ‘defensive wingers’ v ‘attacking wingers’ but I don’t particularly see players like Harrison doubling up on opposition wide players. Labelling them ‘defensive’ is more about their lack of attacking quality in this squad, not forgetting Lindstrom played ahead of Young today.

I just think Mykolenko is looking a bit exposed at the minute.
