Lol this thread is the Shazam , Christ I remember I didn’t know the name of Fast Car and was like humming out the opening guitar bit making a tit of myself and nobody knew the song I was doing til thankfully maybe a year after I heard it on the radio and the dj said “that was of course Fast Car by Tracy chapman” the “of course” bit drove me nuts, sanctimonious b***ard ? I was only looking for the song for ages

Was seeing some Polish Girl once , and everytime id put on The Stone Roses ' I wanna be adored' she would sing "i wanna be a dog" ?? didnt tell her for a while , it fully amused me !

I've said for years they should invent an app where you can try to sing a lyrics of a song tou don't actually know and it will find it for you . Sounds daft , but I thought it was good ?

Really cant make my mind up with these. Love the musical canvas but his voice splits me. Dolores O'Riordan might be a lazy comparison but I also hear the slurry side of the likes of Joe Strummer and Tim Armstrong. He definitely has an ear for vocal lines too.

As far as bands to have their albums advertised in train stations around Liverpool, I'm happy it's one which at least challenges the listener a bit and isn't cookie cutter though.

I think these are great, I’ve been championing these and Shame for the last few years. Fontaines have moved more commercial while Shame have kept more left field. The first 2 albums are exceptional (especially Dogrel the first). Full of raw and jangly tunes, Lyrically the songs are as good as any out there as well which is all on the singer.
Try the Dogrel album for its raw energy and then check out Shame

Hahaha could imagine that in a polish accent “i wannnaaa be a dog “ ?

Me and a few mates used to always take the piss when we were on the beer and sing “I wanna be a door… you’re a door mate” ?

Your ex to Alexa “Alexa play I wanna be a dog by the stone roses” ?
