You might enjoy Einstürzende Neubauten. They're up there with Floyd in my affections. More varied than Rammstein, excellent discography. Here's three cuts from each era, these have in common dramatic climaxes:

It's got a hypnotic quality to it that I like. And that album cover with the horse must be worth owning on vinyl lol

Final Cut is an emotional ride, more intellectual than The Wall, more political than Animals, very Roger-heavy. Lots of singing, less long instrumentals.

Along with The Wall it is my favourite Pink Floyd album although it's really a Waters' solo , Waters is my favourite artist with Amused To Death being my favourite album of all time , never really connected with the Gilmour era bar Division Bell .

wowzers, that is high praise! i'll have to give it another bash, haven't really listened to his solo works enough. you ever check out his opera, Ça Ira? am curious but not got round to listening to it yet.

On Gilmour, when he doesn't have Waters as foil his music is just bland. He's probably the greatest guitarist in rock but songwriting/arranging isn't his thing (except early on in Floyd, his ummagumma/atom-heart efforts were great).

A Roger lockdown session

aye, also been keeping tabs on Roger's youtube...some lovely renditions he's uploaded. unfortunately he also uploads the odd rant against Dave.

Yes played it at lot when it came out but couldn't really connect with it as it's not really my type of music , it got glowing reports from BBC Radio 3 though .
There is so much going on in AMD I never get tired of it , his latest Is This The Life We Really Want ? is excellent as well , seen him three times and hoping he comes around again , doing a massive tour of North and South America July - November this year .
