Now Yearbook 1981 Special Edition on CD. Magnificent. This entire series is different gravy. Just put on CD 1 of 1981 tonight having watched my local team, Hertha BSC, survive in the Bundesliga relegation play-off. First track? Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie. After last Thursday and tonight, I had to laugh.

Great Moody Blues LP (Days of Future Past ) is my favourite though and some nice cuts from JEAN Michel and Oldfield too , good stuff
Oldfield's Killing Fields is my favourite work of his, for him a rare exploration of more darker mysterious vibes:

and while Nights in White Satin is probably the greatest love song ever, this ode to acidman Timothy Leary is also a classic:

Jarre always seems an obligatory listen rather than passionate...haven't quite connected with his works yet like i have with his synthmeister-peers Klaus Schulze, Vangelis or Tangerine Dream.

Recently completed the Pink Floyd discography on CD, so I've been listening to different albums going back and forth from work recently. Today I went with Meddle, and it's such a good album. But... Fearless. Do anyone know if a version without the clown hymn exists? I just can't bear listening to it, and it's such a great song.

The greatest discography in musik. I recently recollected all their albums on vinyl after knowing them all by heart these last 25-ish years on CD. Like discovering them all over again! Best band ever, no question.

But i share your pain...Fearless is otherwise such a nice song too. They're not even reds, they're football-affiliation is either not-arsed or of the London clubs. I guess that chant made such a massive cultural impact that only Evertonians (and latterly maybe Man U fans) were turned off by it. Every other football fan i know think it's a pretty magical powerful chant, hence Floyd choosing to use it.

I did ages ago do an edit of Fearless, with a tasteful cut and fade-out, to remove the chant. I'm not even rabidly anti-RS as some on here, but i still don't wanna willingly hear that. it's on some old hard drive, i'll see if i can find it, and upload it.

Out of interest, you developing an albums ranking? Always find it interesting to see other Floydians' rankings. I'd go:

group one, the absolute best, no equal:

1. the wall
2. wish you were here
3. dark side of the moon
4. atom heart mother (epic title track is my favourite single piece of musik ever)

group two, as good as other favourite bands of mine...struggle to rank these, love them all equally:

5. the final cut
6. ummagumma
7. animals
8. piper at the gates of dawn
9. relics

group 3, some very good stuff, some filler:

10. meddle
11. more
12. obscured by clouds
13. a saucerful of secrets

group 4, missing Roger sounds only superficially like Floyd (just as his own solo work is also lacking that special something):

14. the division bell
15. endless river
16. a momentary lapse of reason

Liam Gallagher documentary on now on Sky.
He’s sounding seriously good.

Shame I’m too old for Knebworth next week !

As of right now I'd probably put Animals, Wish you were here and Dark side of the moon as my top three, with Piper, Relics, Meddle and The Wall next.

Ummagumma, Obscured and Saucerful are the records I'm most excited to dive deeper into, as I've just heard them a couple of times before, and I remember enjoying it.

I'm very fond of Syd's vocals, and the best tracks from Piper ranks up there with Floyd's best for me.

There's two albums I've literally never listened to (other than one or two songs): The Final Cut and More.

When it comes to the post Waters era, there are songs I really love, but I don't listen to the full albums as I find there's quite a bit of uninteresting stuff on them as well. If you're a massive Waters buff I can see why you wouldn't like them. Endless river I find completely pointless.

It's also nice hearing music from their oldest records performed live by 'Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets' project, which I got on bluray like half a year ago.

Wish they included this on Piper:
