In that vein, this tour was fantastic:

Blasted Steve Howe's version of Yes out of the building. Sound quality is not the best on this video, but these and Heart of the Sunrise wrecked.

I have, and I have seen them live (think opening for Slayer), but I tend to listen to somewhat older stuff.

For perspective, the four bands in the double T-shirt club (I have to have seen them three times, and think they are worth live) are Rush, Saxon, Testament and Death Angel. The prog metal bands are often a bear to catch live. Still have not seen Symphony X or Evergrey, given where they hail from, as examples.

If I manage to see King's X again, I am buying another shirt.
One thing that I thought was interesting was that Time Warner once hired them to do a song that they could play at the beginning of movies when you go to the cinema to state rules of proper cinema etiquette as well the copyright laws, so as an attempt to deter pirating...

I reckon it worked quite well! 😳

Peter Gabriel is very good. For some reason, I have never been able to get into Selling England by the Pound, and I have tried many times.

That said, it's like Clutch. I respect quality when I hear it.
If I could only have one record, Selling England is the album. Favourite guitar solo (Firth of Fifth) and as for second half of Cinema Show by only Banks, Collins and Rutherford a masterpiece of power, melody and sheer genius that will never be rivalled. Having said that it is all personal taste and despite my efforts the girls in the office still prefer....Gary.Barlow.

Surprising enough, I heard this song earlier today:

They have an ex drummer in Transatlantic, Mike Portnoy who, like Collins in his day, would give a lift to any band. Check out their live cover of Sylvia by Focus.
I've seen Portnoy live with Dream Theater before he left. He's very good. My favorite piece of his work is here, on one of my favorite covers:

Skolnick, Portnoy and Ellefson? Sign me up. The fact that the rotating lead singers and soloists are all giants of the genre is just icing on the cake. Alissa having fantastic clean vocals is also a revelation.

Definitely hear a bit of Ronnie James Dio in the vocals...

Maybe even some Bruce Dickinson? 🤔

Osgueda is flat out channeling Dio on that one. The best part is the two lead singers of Testament at the end, though. Of course Zetro has a sword.

Favorite Dio song is:

That bit where Dio comes in with the full pipes at around forty seconds is dirty.

This song just does it for me. I love this live version.

It is incredible to think that Weller wrote all those Jam tracks by the time he was 24.

Man in the Corner Shop was penned while he was just 21! What an incredible perception of society & brilliant musicianship.
