What are you currently listening to?

Dave Mustaine, the original guitarist for Metallica... Who loved to party! Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll baby!
But ol' James wasn't having any of that, so he sent him packing after their first album.

So he went and formed Megadeth... Keeping it proper thrash metal to this day, and never really selling out.

What a party pooper! I mean, if you're going be a rock star, at least try some of the naughty things, FFS!
🤣 🤣
They bounced him before the first album was recorded. The story I heard goes that Mustaine was passed-out drunk again before a gig, so they deposited him in that state on a Greyhound bus with a one-way ticket to Los Angeles.

I'll see your song about Bobby and raise you one song about Marty...

Odd King Missile pick when there's this:

Yes, that's what I'm talking about!

Then as prog metal fan, Uov've probably heard of Mastodon?

I have, and I have seen them live (think opening for Slayer), but I tend to listen to somewhat older stuff.

For perspective, the four bands in the double T-shirt club (I have to have seen them three times, and think they are worth live) are Rush, Saxon, Testament and Death Angel. The prog metal bands are often a bear to catch live. Still have not seen Symphony X or Evergrey, given where they hail from, as examples.

If I manage to see King's X again, I am buying another shirt.

Went to listen to Peter Gabriel last night. In 1973 ( when I was 14) he became my rock hero and at 73 his voice has still got it. Fascinating show as well. I know what I like.
Peter Gabriel is very good. For some reason, I have never been able to get into Selling England by the Pound, and I have tried many times.

That said, it's like Clutch. I respect quality when I hear it.
