I'm as far away from the north of Ireland (well as far as possible on this island anyway!) as you can get mate.lolDon't like speed in mph
Or that funny currency ye have
The only plus is the size of the fish and chips portions
Great story. The Guinness served in UK is all made in Ireland these days. Often it tastes better in Ireland because of how it is kept and poured. Ambiance of the pub also a factor, as well as how many pints consumed! Not seen much of Ireland which is ridiculous seeing as its so close however, little trip to Malin for a wedding years back... I was absolutely tickled to walk into a little shop, then through an archway at the back and into a bar! I went straight on the Guinness (if I'm honest it tasted exactly the same as here - which isn't a bad thing!)
Passed through it last Friday and Sunday to Derry for a weekend away with herself. What a bloody bottleneck that Ballybofey isHas anyone not from Ballybofey ever been to Ballybofey if it wasn’t to go to a wedding?

My Grandparents lived in Castlederg so had quite a few ventures over to Ballybofey growing upHas anyone not from Ballybofey ever been to Ballybofey if it wasn’t to go to a wedding?
Yep, I've been to the Elk. Not for a night out, just for work. Must be like a meat market on Saturday nights in ToomebridgeYou didn’t fancy stopping in the Villa Rose to crash a wedding?
Infact has anyone ever been to The Elk once you get off the Glenshane pass on the way to Belfast. It looks way too big to service the area around it. It gives off if you build it they will come vibes
Absolutely love Cork city, overwhelming majority of people are as sound as they come. Don’t live there so can’t really speak on any deterioration. Seems to be the same in most large towns/cities unfortunatelyDon’t know mate, it’s not the City I grew up any more, it’s a shame but not unrecoverable.
It’s not only the edge, think the character and Bohemia has been knocked out of it a bit.
It’s now a commercial centre, transport hub and a place people move to for money and jobs snd opportunity it’s so the population is transient, it’s hard to feel a sense of community now like even 10 years ago, it’s another faceless City now. Often feel the GAA is all we left of the authentic Dublin.
Maybe I’m just getting older and remembering in my day.
