What County In Ireland Is Your Favourite?

Mayo for me, Achill island for me, where my dad was born, beautiful place
Always have a couple of days in Westport too driving out to Doolough and the Lost valley, love it.
Mothers side was from Roscommon a place called Bellinagaire ( not sure of spelling) near French Park.
Couldn't take to it growing up flat landscape and very quiet where her family lived

NI civil servants and business leaders only see one aim- every penny must go to Belfast. They ignore the benefits of hybrid working to the regional towns as people now spend their money in local shops.

I really don’t know what tourists see in Belfast.

My favourite irish city outside of Cork would be Limerick though.

Said I'd take my daughter to the park in Mallow on Saturday, driving in she says, Daddy can we go on a train, so like a fool I ended up in Limerick for two hours via the train with a 5 year old. Limerick is an absolute hole of a city.

Was thinking of driving to Longford for the City game on Saturday night but I honestly don't think I can face it

Nah it's grand it's safer than Dublin and less touristy than Galway imo. Longford though is another story!

Longford Town is the biggest kip in Ireland, Birkenhead is the biggest kip in the UK and Alice Springs is the biggest kip in Australia.lol

Sligo prob my fav - beautiful county. Cast a cold eye on life, on death. Horseman pass by! Prob gets a bit overlooked between Mayo and Donegal.

Leitrim is also very scenic but a step too far - a disquieting place. Like the faeries will grab you on the way back from the alehouse.

Land access sucks, though, for getting out into the hills. Farming tory-mindset completely embedded afaict.
