What's Clondalkin like?, the best looking men come from there ❤️

It was an old village settlement going back to Viking times mate, even today in the village there is a big round tower still in the village, the monks used them when there was a Viking attack to protect the churches treasures and defend fro the towers. In the 20th century, it became part of the sprawling Dublin suburbs growing and growing through the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and on, these days it’s an established suburb in West County Dublin, some nice but also tough spots, about 30 -40 mins from the City Centre.

I came up there a bit for a bit of time (amongst other places), played for Round Towers (Jim Gavin’s club) and local football teams. ;)

Sounds lovely, thanks for responding

Belfast is exactly the same. The city centre is dirty with the signs of drug abuse everywhere.

Think it’s like most City's mate, you kind of take it for granted when your used to it but going down the Falls and Shankill is still fascinating even the peace walls, with the gardens backing on to them with the steel mesh over them so grenades can’t be thrown over. It’s an expierence most City’s can’t throw at you.

Just outside too, brilliant view from just outside the City, looking down on the City from the likes of Cave hill.

Antrim is a stunningly beautiful County just outside of Belfast too and a lot not that far away.

West Cork and Kerry are nice, but well trodden with tourists and established tourism and usual gouging and dodging tour buses on winding roads.

For me the stretch of coast from Antrim to North Mayo is the most beautiful and wild in the Country and also the least trodden and best value.

Many people don’t bother with the North, but you’re doing yourself a massive disservice.

I feel they maintain those for tourism reasons because the idea that grenades would be thrown over just doesn't reflect how the city is or has been for a long time.

I grew up right on one of the biggest flashpoint streets, if not the biggest, in the north and just before until the the height of the Holy Cross dispute we did have our house attacked (Windows put in twice and petrol bombed once) but once that faded it was as safe as anywhere else to live. That was the early 2000's. Peace walls serve no purpose here now and haven't for a long time.
