Enough for my work life balance, currently. The 38k-50k bracket

I do know I can get paid more elsewhere (and go to the next bracket) and I do seriously consider it at times, but there is a chance I'd have work later than 5 on some days, I'd probably have more meetings and I can't do 10km-15km runs on my lunch so I'm preferring that to money at the moment. Obviously I'm lucky I kind of have that choice

I now earn about 10-15k less than I did last year and the previous few years but it’s not about the cash for me. I am now home in my own bed every night, no weekends… just 9-5…. And my salary is enough for me to enjoy the things I want to do … how much does a person really need

It’s all a bit deceiving though, in my previous job I was earning what I considered to be good money yet if I was living down south or even in London my earnings would have been meagre almost. I know how lucky I am to have been in a position to decide to take a significant pay cut and earn far less but I don’t regret that decision one bit… I’m happier, home every day and have a job that pays me enough. I couldn’t survive living down south tbh

get a Portuguese wage. Probably was earning more working in bars in my 20s. Would be 30plus job back in the U.K. but would mean I’d have to physically interact with all you pallid slugs so swings and roundabouts.
I feel 30 grand wouldn’t really get you far now anyways.
