What should the new stadium look like?

Steal this design...........

Maybe in black to match the Liverpool museum. sorted.

That vikings stadium cost over $1bn I believe, I do like the nautical themed outside though, looks like a stealth war ship, and I like the fact that its a bit industrial looking inside, pipes and girders running about the place, and I also like the way its not 'even' all the way around, I dont want anything too symeterical, I think it just makes stadiums feel a bit too clinical, I hope we can have different height stands or its designed in a way that breaks everything up a bit and theres little features that draw the eye.

I did initially like the lucas oil stadium as well, but I keep changing my mind on the brick exterior, yes it will tie in with the local area today, but what about when everything else has been built around it? and also would it cost more to build it out of brick? I do like those big windows they have at the ends, we need to do something along those lines to take advantage of the view of the river or the city etc.

A very valid point that which I didn't think of until you mentioned it. I also like the Lucas Oil Stadium and thought it might fit in well at the docks BUT you are right...there is a massive development project and they will probably design the stadium to fit in with what they anticipate the final results of the development project will be. Wish I knew what the stadium are going to look like :)

An awful lot of people on here are thinking we are getting a world class stadium. It's great to hope for that but in reality I can't see it. I'm not trying to be a downer or curb enthusiasm for our new stadium but with the money being spent on other stadiums around the world, our budget seems in the mid range if the quoted numbers in the media are true (£300-£450million).
I think we have the right guy doing the design & for our money we will get a great stadium for our needs but i cant see it having removable pitches or flexible stands or a fully closed roof or a cheese room. In reality there are now many many stadiums already operating that do many or all of these things & the billion dollar stadiums still to be built will take that further.
We have a cracking location, we have a cracking club & to us, our new ground will be awesome but it won't be world class, it won't be ground breaking & it won't tell the football world that we are now a force. Most clubs won't even care right now.

The picture of Lille's stadium a few posts before this kind of sums up my point. How many of us really knew about it? We couldn't care before that thier pitch moved about. It's only now that we bothered to look. There are many more grounds like this.

I really do think our new ground will look boss all light up on the Mersey & will be picture perfect but that is all. It is however a start to create that ' big club' mentality we need to show we are year in year out from now on.

Nobody expects a $2B behemoth like Jerryworld, but I think expected a remarkable stadium/experience for the £300M being bandied around is reasonable

You know those fairground rides, the seats on rails type things where they spin around and make you look down at the ground in a seated position?

Lets chuck some of them on the roof to maximize revenue potential. Best seat in the house. Just make sure you go the bog beforehand.

I'm not opposed to a bowl, if you can get the design right then it can be boss (See the Maracana)

That being said, if you get a bowl wrong it can be a soulless hole where exuberance goes to die

If we do go for a bowl, then I think the stands need to be as close to pitch side as possible to make sure there's still some atmosphere

I had a similar thought regarding moveable seats. You know it's kind of cool if we had a window looking out to the graces, but it wastes area that we could have seats in. So my idea is to have lots of little tiers of say 5 rows one on top of each other, then when the stadium isn't full we can tilt them horizontally so we can see out or perhaps even pull them up to the roof and they can slot together to take up the minimum amount of space possible.

Sometimes i just don't know where i get my ideas from... That reminds me i got to shut these blinds, the sun is in my eyes :)

The general vibe I'm getting, is that it'll look wonderful from plans and externally at night.

But it won't have the facilities the new stadia have like at Spurs.

If you look at his new Roma design, huge gaps between between sections and doesn't seem to show wow-factor facilities.

Yeah there's a lot of extras in that Vikings Stadium that we can't afford, but I do like the shape, and as I've mentioned several times, I do love the idea of the windows in both the Vikings stadium and Lucas Oil.

I'm totally with you on asymmetrical. Which is a feature I love in the Vikings Stadium as well.

On cost keep in mind, building a 55-60k seater won't cost as much as a 70-80k seater. Lop off the upper deck on both of those. However I don't want us to scrimp on things like renewable energy for the stadium and other forward thinking design elements. I big box with four stands and some roofing over the seats? No way.
