What the Hell is happening to Everton?

Heavens Dave, using the "P" word!!

It's supposition and there is no evidence of any real sort to support the conjecture.
It's a common occurrence in sport. Overachievement is rarely followed up with consolidation.

We've slipped back from a better than average season to less than what was our 'norm' at this time of the year (although we have been on this current points total at this stage of the season on a few occasions in the past) and so looks like something more significant than a poor second season.

I agree with this and I would also add the horrendously planned pre-season that we never seemed to know what we were doing and that contributed to a slow start. I hope those responsible doesn't let it happen again.

The manager, and he will let it happen again just like the abysmal transfer windows

We had a decentish season in Moyes last year and then did very well to earn a fifth place finish last season, so of course this season will be hurting a bit more than usual

What's bugged me is how we've essentially been in a relegation battle since the drubbing against Hull. That's something that should be behind us with the squad we have.

Mid table mediocrity is bad enough, but fighting for our very survival? That crosses the line

Are you a Martinez in or out man mate?

Looking at the title of this thread and having watched Blackburn against Stoke on the box and how King had a blinder, it occurred to me that EFC has not not had a stand-out performance from a forward all season.

Neither Lukaku nor Miralles have been on song but in my opinion we have a structural problem. EFC should play one defensive midfielder, either Barry or Besic, plus a more attack minded player, either Barkley or McCarthy.

Naysmith should be left out. Our lack of pace upfront and Lukaku's poor hold-up play are big disadvantages against the Bus formation which includes doubling up against Baines and Coleman. Two wingers and someone alongside Lukaku.

There is a condition colloquially referred to as second season syndrome. Has this been brought up anywhere ?. I suspect not...and I have read an awful lot .

I felt no pride with the hoofball Moyes saddled us with. None.

He's a barbarian in football terms.

Atletico Madrid have had great success playing snide agricultural football and kicking teams off the park. There's more than one way to play the game you know

(not saying I'd have Moyes back by the way)
