What Was Worse to Watch? This, or the Smith Era?

going over the sme stuff again, but lack of money doesnt mean he had to play saha up front in every game and neville in midfield, he doesnt have many options true, but he does have some

moyes may indeed be getting stale/pissed off but who was the last major signing on a perm contract (gibson excused)? In that time pienaar, arteta, beckford yakubu lescott (sorry for mentioning) plus others i cant recall, so we are losing quality players and have been replacing with very mediocre squad players.
For me, the decline started when lee carsley left. He gave so much to ours side, quality spoiler of a player. I heart lee.

Finally someone here knows what they are talking about. Moyes was forced to sell his most creative players and was not able to buy anyone to make up for it. It is not Moyes... It is the board.
Every tactic Moyes has done so far I have understood because that is the only think he can do with his resources.

if he keeps leaving some of his best attacking resources on the bench, it makes your point moot; and he does.

Beckford and Yak sellings were because of those twos attitudes and Moyes' stubbornness. Still the money he got has not exactly been fully available for him to reuse it.

Moyes Team selection and tactics are as predicable as Chico posting a jarg link to two animals bumming

i'd sure like to get in on some of that action

Agree. You only miss it when its gone.

If Carsley had been a couple of years younger we'd never of had to of seen Neville or Heitinga in midfield which... causes so much angst on here.

Neville was doing okay in the carsley role if i recall. what happened to that?

The last time we scored more than one goal against Premier League opposition was 12 games ago against Wolves in November.

Not a good stat, that.

"This" being this season you mean ? Well you might have a point. But it hasn't been like "this" for the last 10 years - people have short memories. Whereas the Smith era was all sh1te, sorry, "disappointing", to use his favourite word to describe most performances under him. When we went behind under the Smith the game was invariably over. There is no comparison. And we had some good players then as well.
