Still shorts and T shirts for me during the day at the moment. I change that to joggy bottoms and jumper when it starts getting dark. Been fine so far. Got my heating temperature set at 12C at the moment so won't be coming on any time soon. Will increase that to 18C at the end if the month. Hopefully I can work with that and if I get cold will put on another layer of clothing.

Heating is on at night but instead of setting the thermostat to 20 or 21 we've got it at 18 and the throws/blankets have been deployed. No point making an old house damp with cold as that'll be costly to fix. I pay monthly so if the Gas bill is far too high then parts of peoples fences may start going missing and the fire will be lit.

I put mine on whenever I’m cold if I’m honest, I can’t do with being cold in my own home .

it's not healthy for you or your home too.

the whole 'we're not using it' etc is proper middle class privilege, imagine saying all that to someone who can't really afford to use it much

Increasing number of blokes wear shorts in public these days - many of them ill-advisedly. They must think they're on holiday all the time.
Presumably they have the heating on all day at home. It seems a bit wasteful.
Here in Auchterhardy we are used to going about in woollens and macs because of the constant cold and damp. And that's before we even leave the house.

When I'm back home from work about 6.30 I do my tea go straight to bed, eat it on a tray got telly in there so no need to sit in living room, put hot water bottle in if I'm cold. Only time I might put it onis for 20 mins on morning when I have a shower

Whenever we’re cold.

Blast it on high for an hour then leave it be is what we usually do.

Still not that cold to have it on yet. Even without the bills going up I’ve never felt the need to put it on before November time.
