Where do you expect us to finish?

There’s this nagging voice at the back of my mind that keeps telling me we’ll beat West Ham and Brighton easily then our squad will either be a) ravished by injuries during the international break or b) they’ll all catch Covid and be out for the Derby

3 games is nothing over the course of a 38 game season. We saw how Leicester fell apart last year and the others picked up. Top 7 would still be a huge improvement on what we've had for a long time and it's the most realistic outcome.

Most seasons we stagger out of the gate, then come into some kind of form late, and end up in the mid table. With the start we’ve made this campaign, if we can avoid the Xmas doldrums, I think 5th, 6th possibly 4th ( if JP can get his head straight and we get the centre back thing sorted.)

I'm just enjoying the ride now, putting set targets down leads to anxiety with Everton. We're doing well, long may it continue.

I have to say though if teams don't get their act together the RS are going to walk it again which is unacceptable. Pep needs to sort that defence out but other than that it looks open going on the first weeks of the season, which itself is never a real indicator as things will level out in the coming weeks as squads settle.

3 games in, this is a BRAVE shout. I remember teams like Hull being top at this point in the recent past

Yeah but they didn’t have the players we have and it was unexpected/luck. We started to feel we could have a good season before it started with our signings and the thinking seems to be justified so far.

Yeah, get 10 or 11 games out of the way and we've got a better clue to how it's going to pan out.

I would say the maximum a team like everton can achieve will be 65-70 points. That is 20 wins out of 38 and 5 to 10 draws.

Regardless of where if finishes us in the league if we achieve that sort of total I will be made up because it will mean we have consistently stayed a winning team. History tells you that sort of total keeps you in the hunt for top 4 but it depends on whether Chelsea and Man U perform as expected.
