Which summer signings were a mistake?

Can't say there is too much of an issue in who except we bought 3 10's but no Lukaku replacement. It might help DCL to get game time but no one can say he is the next Harry Kane yet to me. Sandro probably has not stepped up as hoped but to be honest I think the problem starts at the back for us. Williams is one season passed it and I would much rather have Jags right now.

Could go off topic a lot here but really it's what we didn't buy that's the issue... and how Koeman is setting it up.

It's not fair to include Bolasie. He's hardly had a chance.

On reflection, Rooney was a mistake and a distraction.

I reckon Sandro will be good.

Koeman is the biggest mistake.

Martina, Klaasen and Schneiderlin are mistake too, all of them are under-perform in every match.

The performance of Williams is dropped too fast this season and it is another mistake.

I don't feel Rooney return is a mistake, his performance is steady and above average in every match.

Hi Trevor

I’ll judge them when the team starts playing well as a whole. Everyone looks crap at the minute.

THIS, remember when our entire team looked crap under RM, Ross, Rom,Stones, Coleman, Baines,Jags, Barry....alll went doen hill hugely during his last season in charge, did they become bad players....NO, they were just lost. Same has happened here, it will right itself, with or without Koemi.

Our usual kneejerk reaction fans is that all our players are crap.

Too early to write any off, though inevitably one or two will prove disappointing over a longer-term.

There's also a big difference between someone like Sigurdsson being a mistake at 45m, with Martina on a free, though the latter is obviously not of the quality required. And that's not his fault either, he wasn't born wearing blue.

My concern is the longer our poor form and bad run goes on, that it will do lasting damage to some of them, particularly Klaassen and Sandro.

Sandro in particular looks completely lost at the moment. I hope he can visit home for the international break and sit back and forget about Everton at least for a few days. Heaven knows, we could all try that.

None of the signings - okay, bar Cuco - are poor players.

The system hasn't helped and Koeman himself has hindered them by trying to shoehorn all of them into the side, rather than sticking with what we had last season and gradually introducing the likes of Sandro and Klaassen, giving them time to adapt to English football and settle in.

Instead, they have been stripped of any confidence right from the off.

And, as others have said, the main issue was not getting two more signings in key areas - Striker and CB.

It's okay saying 'we should have spent that money elsewhere', but that isn't the point. It was on Walsh and the board to get the players/type of players the manager wanted, and they let him and us down late in the window.

None have been a success so far apart from Rooney. He's been our best player....for no fee.

Pickford is bog standard (and as I identified a good few weeks back his kicking is atrocious...only to be told at that time I was mad).
Keane is ok but far from an unqualified success.
Sigurdsson has been anonymous
Sandro disappointing.
Klaassen...let's move on.
Sandro - WTF?!
Vlasic - looks ok but far too few appearances to decide.

It's not just the summer signings but the existing players not pulling their fingers out that is the problem. I'm slightly concerned that Giroud was our main striker target. If we really wanted to push on is Giroud the striker we would realistically pick to take us forward? He's not exactly prolific. A good player don't get me wrong but to make a statement saying we are serious about where we want to be a top class striker was a must and Giroud for me doesn't fit that bill.

any combination of 2 of the three number 10's, theyre all good in there own way but all 3 aren't as good as barkley, the priority should have been to tie ross down on a bigger deal ( think he can/could have been convinced to stay )

also martina, just because he isn't a real footy player
