Which summer signings were a mistake?

As people have said it's who we didn't sign, and who we didn't sell that's the main problem.

Atm Klassens the only player I wouldn't of signed, I still think he'll improve but the money could of been spent better in other areas.

Money saved from that purchase, a quick realistic sale of Barkley, and taking whatever we could for McCarthy, Lennon, Niasse, Robles and possibly Mirrales, could of gave us anything around £80-90m and a substantial amount of extra money for wages, to bring in another defender and striker, that would move us upto the next level.

People tend to get ahead of themselves though and the season has only just kicked off really, we knew it would be a tough start to the league especially with so many new players, shame our performances have spilled over into the Europa though

Signing Rooney AND Sigurdsson was a mistake whatever way you look at it.

None were mistakes, what we have done with them is the mistake

Rooney, Sandro and Klassen look like blokes who hang around motorcycle custom shops and perve at schoolgirls.

Signing 3 number 10's and no striker was a big mistake.

None of them, it was more what we didnt sign which was the issue.

We needed a squad big enough to compete in all competitions so even signing similar players in Rooney, Klaassen and Sigurdsson, it still wasnt a bad thing, the problem is with the Manager wanting to play them all at the same time, he's got a squad he needs to use it rather than shoehorn all the signings into the starting eleven.

The failure to sign a Striker, CB and LB has been an issue for at least two seasons now. Even when Lukaku was here we still needed another striker and Baines has been on a downward slope for a few years now and needed to be replaced. Less said about CB the better.

All the signings will be decent i think. The bigger issue /mistake was selling lukaku too early and too cheaply and not replacing him.

Like many on here, I was quite happy with the signings we were making in the summer. Looking at our performances since, we obviously could have spent better, but which of the signings do you think were a mistake?

I'm going to go with Klassen. Signing him as well as Sigurdsson just seems like a waste of £24m and should have gone towards a CF instead.

Ronald Koeman. he was the mistake.
