I think we would need to get rid of about 10players. Unless a new manger gets 4yrs and plan is to play some of the youngsters and be prepared to be in mid table for a coupe of years while the young lads find their feet.

Personally Lookman is the only one i would consider a possible stater week in week out next season. The likes of Kenny, holgate, davies and maybe Connolly should be squad players.

I would loan out dowell and DCL, hopefully to prem teams. Dowell not getting games for Forest at the moment.

Agree ten need to go but signing for example a similar number as this season will just repeat the cycle.

As you suggest use the younger players to fill the gaps left by the departures.

I’d sign 3 players spend the lot on them centre half, left back & centre mid.

Dowell & Karanka was never going to work, a positive is he gets experience of a manager who wants him to play in a system that he isn’t comfortable with or he doesn’t play. It’s only short term & Clearly we wouldn’t loan him back to forest as it simply doesn’t fit for dowell.

If he does go the championship next season he will have his pick of teams.

From the date he signed Matt cheetham has him as statistically the most creative player in the league. He won’t be short of suitors.

That's correct I think. Surely the WBA job is his if he wants it in the next week or so.

I don't think he'll take it though, he risks getting a reputation as another firefighter.

I suppose we at least offer the albeit fading pretence of some notional ambition. Odds on to end up here within a few short months. We probably becoming more unappealing to Fonseca by the week.
 
Of the 6 teams below, including us, all but one went for a manager with premier league experience, yet arguably the team performing much better are the team that looked absolutely doomed only a few weeks ago.

Granted, the season is far from over but I think every managerial appointment requires some luck.

There’s no doubt we’ve been dire at both player and managerial recruitment for too long. It’s hard to believe that we will need another rebuild over the summer.

True. If the S'ton job comes up and he sidesteps that I'd be convinced he's Goodison bound.
 
Perhaps we want arteta to be fonseca’s assistant.
Knows the league & the club which are the two major issues with any appointment such as fonseca.
 
For me fonseca would be first choice then silva and I would also seriously take a punt at jokanovic at fulham,premier league experience might be a issue for some.
 
Swansea were brave with Carvalhal, I must admit I thought that was an odd choice at the time.
Things come and go in cycles. It does seem like the time for a high risk/high reward type candidate to emerge rather than a steady eddie.
My biggest concern as always is the thoroughness of the appointment process and the time it takes.
I find it really hard to envisage circumstances other than bumbling ineptitude that means we don't have a new manager by the end of the season.

If he has been secured then what are we waiting for? We have a manger that no one wants and come the weekend Goodison is going to be very very toxic. Sack him now and get Silva in, get the fans bouncing for the weekend and have a great atmosphere.

The only reason we might be waiting is for Fonseca, maybe once SP are out the CL he come.

Otherwise what’s the hold up?
Get Silva in give him 9/10 games what ever we have left to get to know the squad and get the players to learn his style

I think that matters are complicated with Silva and his pay off. If he leaves for us now it'd probably impact his entitlement.

You say that but they sacked him, they didn’t part ways mutually and would you really care about the pay off when your going to get 6mil plus at us
