Who should replace Frank Lampard?

This is a good opint, he walked into a mess at Chelsea, it was also going to be hard, if he came to a normal stable club like us it would be better for him

Debacle means given an unlimited transfer budget now does it?

He's spent about 500m on players in 6 months.
He blew it at Chelsea - and it was utterly predictable. Wrong club, wrong time. It happens. When the top managers in the game have been fired at Chelsea, it really does take some ego to think a creditable stint at Brighton and in Sweden makes you a suitable candidate for them. Top marks for backing himself, but take the lucrative severance and start again.

Where he goes next is interesting. I'm not sure clubs of any real size can wait - or will wait - for his methodical modus operandi to bear fruit. Hence his success at backwaters like Swansea.

As regards Everton, he'd have failed here too for the same reasons. Lack of time. But one thing I will say is at least he has a track record of positive impact when given that time. Our current manager has absolutely nothing to fall back on except his image as a player and a top geezer.

Hands up those who wanted Potter
Yes, all day every day. A MUCH better manager than Lampard. Sent into Chelsea and had which players were brought in dictated to him by a lunatic owner who thought he was spending £500m of monopoly money and has no idea about football No doubt he's also been told who to play in his starting XI too. Loads of injuries to the established and proven Chelsea players, too. He'll be in demand when he leaves Chelsea and we might be the best job available for a while unless Leicester part ways with Rodgers, in which case he'd be better off going there as they have a good squad.

Seems like Moshiri ! Wonder if Chelsea would take back Lampard in a swop deal for Potter ?

same as frank, took over someone elses players, potters are a hell of a lot better if your giving potter time why not frank

Because Potter has proven himself to be a top quality manager, whereas Lampard hasn't proven anything, other than being capable of taking a more than decent enough squad from 16th to 16th last season, and in line to be relegation this season. You'd have to be off your head for wanting Lampard over Potter.

Potter in the summer would be a good shout, whether we stayed up or not.

We need someone now though. I very much doubt he would come straight to us after a potential sacking.

And you'd have to be fair to anyone that did come here and took us down, with the mess it would be harsh not to give them the chance to take us back up.

I think he'll take some time out of the game if he is sacked by Chelsea, and come back after a few months break, and end up roughly at the level he was with Brighton, albeit with another club to re-develop over time. I don't see him coming here now.
