Who should replace Frank Lampard?

Everton as a club is so unhinged, I honestly couldn’t call what they’ll do next.

My hope is that they accidentally stumble upon a good appointment. We’re due a bit of luck on the managerial merry go round.

Ange is a fantastic manager, but unfortunately not what we need right now. Ange is the kind of manager that needs time to bring in his own players, as he has a very focussed philosophy that needs the right kind of players to execute. Our players wouldn’t be able to play his style of football, we’d be relegated. Unfortunately Everton need a fire fighter right now.

Big fan of Celtic and of Ange but yeah his style seems much more suited to being the dominant / superior team, and we don’t have the players. They’ve struggled to make any impact against better opposition in Europe.

He’d have us playing some terrific stuff in the Championship though and his recruitment at Celtic has been top notch.

And the same we did against City and United and were well and truly up for it.

I don't think the formation is the issue, I think it is the specific coaching.

If it was 5 weeks ago I reckon any gaffer not as unbelieveably bad as Lampard could get survival, we've wasted that many decent fixtures with boris lampard that it might be better accepting the warm embrace of the championship and getting a young project gaffer in and thinking long term.

Agreed - one thing that concerns me in particular about Lampard is his inability to articulate what he means by his way of playing, which is reflected on the field by a team that doesn't look like they're being coached at all. Also talking about tactics "not being of importance" in the second half vs Southampton, and more recently that moves in the final third "should be instinctive" is an abdication of responsibility as the team's coach.

Yeah, he doesn’t seem to grasp that things that he, as a world class player, found instinctive actually need to be taught to lesser players.

Massive rumours that ex-Wolves boss Nuno has been approached.

This is Everton we got to sack Lampard then wait at least a week to write a list, then we got 2 weeks of auditions followed by a weekend in London on finals weekend to pick a manager, so that at least 3 weeks at the earliest
