Who should replace Frank Lampard?

Why not buy the two strikers we've been clamouring for since it became likely Richarlison would leave last summer?

That's over a year to fix our problem of no goals.

The ability of Frank, Thelwell and Board to fix this single factor will determine our Premier League status. But then what, scrape by for another year with this level of leadership. Why do we have a board full of people running the club who in nearly 30 years have won nothing, and did nothing to really create the new stadium opportunity - that came from Mosh.

Now the build cost will increase and the pot of money behind us reduce, we're basically ripe for a sale. If we're relegated that cost will go down making the process for a buyer longer...

BUT the opportunity for that new buyer is huge. Massive club, huge city, great history, great culture and relationship to the community, amazing ground. It's everything that needed building at City absolutely gift-wrapped.

My interest has fast moved to this scenario and away from the inevitable of this board + Lampard / Thelwell. It's over.

If this club pays Santo’s 7m buyout just to sack him in 12 months time, I’m going off the rails

If Nuno gets brought in and still takes us down, the board will give him the time to take us straight back up - championship experience with Wolves

Nuno:
  1. Has worked with Thelwell before;
  2. Has excellent connections with 'super agent' Jorge Mendes, who has a track record for bringing above-average players to below-average clubs on extremely iffy deals (which we need, because we've got no cash and the clubs on fire);
  3. Has coached 5 at the back for near his entire career to decent success with clubs of our level (which I add is probably the best formation for our team);
  4. Had a great record with Wolves coaching counter attack football against the big teams, several of whom we still have to play to stay up (seriously, check the fixture list March onwards);
  5. Would jump at the chance to leave the Middle East to come to a Premier League club.
  6. Has brought a team up from the Championship before
I don't like it personally and I can think of at least 3 or 4 options I think I'd rather us go for - but if you think the squad is actually that bad (which I dont), Nuno ticks a lot of boxes.
Good post that.

You have to cut your cloth accordingly, no matter how unpalatable it may at first seem.

That team had Neves, Jota, Doherty, Saiss, Coady etc. They walked the league because they had easily the best players.

Yeah, should have made it clear that I don't agree with that logic - they had the finance to arrange a super team via Mendes for that league - but that is 100% the logic our board will adopt (because they won't investigate 'championship experience' in any actual depth)

Did not realise that Nuno is actually in employment at the moment , so hopefully that's the end of that rumour as would be easier, less time consuming and less expensive to get a manager who is out of work.

Nuno won't last ten mins at goodison.

Everton as a club are not and will never be set up to play side ways patient football. It isn't synonymous with us and is pointless getting someone in who will try it.
