But with less heading ability1) I didn't see Steven, my dad says Trevor Steven
2) Arteta
3) Parkinson (massively underrated)
4) Speed was a better player, but Cahill did more for the club. Speed was like a Cahill who was better on the ball and had better technique.
“He was nuts in 2004”? Thomas was nuts for most of his football career, that’s not meant as a compliment !!Gravesen is getting underrated here, he was the nuts in 2004
But with less heading ability
In rank order: best header of the ball out of:Yes probably, but Speed was also very good in the air too. I remember one header at the Kop end Anfield for a late equaliser was as good a header as you'll see.
Great question. I'd go:In rank order: best header of the ball out of:
Sharp, Gray, ferguson, cahill, fellaini, latchford ?
Kanchelskis was electric, like nothing we had seen before, but he wasn’t with us long enough.Loved Kanchelskis. Loved Steven. That one is close for me

Probably very similar to yours to be honest. Sharp used to do this thing where he’d jump slightly early and it used to really throw the cb so he was excellent at winning headers from a long punt. Cahill was the master at arriving in the box at the right time and employing his kangaroo genetics. Gray would head anything. Very brave. King of the diving header. I only vaguely remember latch. Perhaps I would knock him down a place or 2. Screech would trap it on his Velcro chest as often as not, while flinging his sharpened elbows about lIke a demented chickenWow tough one that mate! I didnt see some of them.
I think Ferguson is the best.
Of the others, probably good at different thing. Cahill was very brave and would get in front of players. Grey was great too.
I don't know, how would you rate them?

He’d have been our manager long before now.His silence was supposed to protect the club, that's what I alluded to in my post. But in the end it had the opposite effect. It was the equivalent of someone saying I've got some gossip but I can't tell you. All it does is pique interest and start tongues wagging. His stance of i can't say what it is as it will damage the club had the opposite effect of what he obviously intended.
At no point did I say he did it to protect himself. In fact, to the contrary, I literally said that he ended up shouldering 100% of the blame, which led to him becoming a hate figure for the next decade. Only Nick Barmby leaving to join the RS would get anywhere near the level of stick Speed did on every return. Not even Rooney kissing the United badge or taking the piss on Alan Balls day got him as nasty a reception as was reserved for Gary "bad language removed" Speed.
My post was not intended to be a slight on Speed. It was to highlight that he was a great player and to show that thanks to how badly mismanaged we were as a club at the time, we missed out on plenty of things, including the prime years of Speeds career, who could've and should've captained us for years.
