robles will be next. If martinez trusts him enough to play then I would imagine he is always planned to be the successor.

If this is the case then I would imagine he is simply playing the experienced keeper ahead of him while he develops which isn't a bad thing.
If Martinez trusted him enough to play, he'd be playing.

not over experienced Howard. He is our senior keeper, whether we like it or not

2 years ago robles couldn't even catch a ball remember! I would argue that robles is still developing in that regard and since he is still young then the manager is giving him time to do that.

The problem with robles is we haven't seen enough of him to see what he is bad at. I can't think of a single game he played where he had to deal with a lot of different shots at him ala Howard does.

Just checked at Peter Schmechel only signed for Man Utd at the age of 28 and had been capped for Denmark 33 times by then.

I suppose it just goes to show that sometimes keepers may be ignored until later on in their careers.
We signed Martyn when he was 38.

Here's a cheeky one: if the Stones to Barcelona thing everyone thinks will happen goes down, why not knock £10 million or so off the price and ask for Marc-Andre ter Stegen in exchange? Excellent young goalkeeper (and German!) who is only seeing cup action right now.

Would be incredible to get him without Stones :)

But hes played 11 times this season...a few league games so perhaps wont want to leave.

I think that's only because Claudio Bravo had an injury; Bravo's started every league match he's been fit for, as far as I know.

Makes sense. Cant see how he isnt getting a game in front of Bravo...

Perhaps hes not as good as expected?

Red Rum might be a good bet. Just as mobile as T H and would fill more of the goal.

Failing that, any one of the Frinton on Sea Baptist Inspirational Dance Group.
