Reports are coming out of Ukraine that we are preparing a bid to bring 27-year-old shot-stopper Denys Boyko to Everton this January on a £3-£4m deal from Dnipro.

Basically, I don't see us getting Yarmelenko and Butland in the same window, and Martinez will probably want the attacking player over the defensive one, because Martinez

Butland is just overpriced. He may be great, but it's too much money. Especially for us. Can't see it happening but I wouldn't be upset if it did.

He meets the criteria mate

You give Roberto Martinez 15 million and say he can spend it on a midfielder or goalkeeper, where do you honestly expect him to spend it?

This keeper will be a budget buy

i'd hope he'd spend it on a keeper to be honest. Our keepers are a 36 year old howard and robles and we have no recognisable prospect coming through the youths. Our squad is littered with good midfielders and many many coming through the ranks and then there's the fact we're the 3rd top scorers in the league.

you look at the likes of de gea and lloris - they're the difference between us finishing above and below those two teams. budget buys in that department won't see us shift above them, nor do i believe buying a top midfielder would.

I am beginning to wonder if he'll take another punt on a young understudy like he did with Robles.

If he does hopefully he does better due diligence than last time though.

I would hope he'd spend it on a keeper also, but this is Martinez we're talking about here. The man sees defending as a necessary evil sometimes

We need a an international goalie,
from a hot bed of great goalkeepers,
from a top six club for less than £5m.
String of world class saves in last appearance,
and at 6'5" can catch and shot stop.

Answer Wayne Hennessey

Remember the name.

I hope he does find some young upstart. Let's be honest, Tim isn't getting any younger, and he'll need to pass the torch on to the next generation in 3 or 4 years' time.

we were - if i remember right - supposedly quite interested about Marshall not so long ago. whats his status atm?
Played a blinder a few weeks ago, Cardiff manager Russell Slade: "It was another good performance. We defended well though we made a couple of errors but fortunately David Marshall was there to deal with those problems - there were four or five of those and he's made great saves for us.
And
They arrived on the back of three consecutive clean sheets, an achievement that owed much to the outstanding form of Marshall.
