I’d take Lampard or a Rooney. Both winners in their professional careers and will want to make a mark.
Lampard always had a bit of grit in him, turned up in big games, Rooney is a mess.

Lampard "may" make us more media savvy,I could see him moulding a younger, energetic squad ,bringing through the likes of Dobbin,Mills,Onyango etc, only concern for me is he's a total "Lahndan" boy, but he would be an interesting one.Lampard always had a bit of grit in him, turned up in big games, Rooney is a mess.
He knows the train station, Anfield and wherever the comedy gigs are.John Bishop. He knows the city
My thoughts exactly although I think that pitch begins by appealing to their DoF Dan Ashworth. I expect Potter to garner something above us in due time which might be his calculus in stying put. But totally agree on the pitch to him and Ashworth. Build your club similar to Brighton, but with a larger profile and resources.I know it feels like Potter would be mad to leave Brighton for us but here would be my pitch:
There's very little he can still do with Brighton, quite simply they are at or close to their ceiling. Everton have a stadium on the way, and even though things are grim at the moment the squad is getting younger and we are slowly getting a lot of deadwood off the wage bill, in previous summers and in the summer come up.
Once the fat is trimmed there is a lot of potential, especially with the very good young players we have, to come, with his DoF if he could be persuaded, and put together something with a much higher ceiling than he has at Brighton, even if they are in much better shape than us at present.
