No they don’t. We’ve had loads of them and hounded them out. They want a miracle manager who will negate the need for a multi year squad refresh. He doesn’t exist, which is why there’s not a single candidate that has anything close to support amongst the fan base.

It's correct but no manager is getting the time to do that either are they? So we want a good manager in the short term

At this point I'm not looking for a manager who buys into "The Project and "The Vision" to turn this club around over the next 5 years to take it back to a team competing for Europe. I'm looking for a manager who has the ability to get enough points this season and get us to safety. The former is an afterthought.

Moyes came from Preston because we were in no position whatsoever to appoint a proven manager befitting the stature of one of the great English clubs. That's because Kenwright did not have the means. Moyes would not have been appointed had we the finances befitting our status. Today, we have the means to appoint a person such as Ancelotti. So why are we now settling for a Norwich City target who has achieved nothing in the game?

Being the biggest poisoned chalice in football probably doesn't help our cause.

It's a tough one, we could get a "big name" but a name who would be happy to just rumble on for a bit before their inevitable sacking in 18 months. Money for old rope. A forward thinking progressive manager's whole career could be decimated by coming here.

I honestly think this is our last chance to get this right. Any mistakes and we will carry on doing this forever.
